Cloudera’s Support organization is responsible for creating an outstanding customer experience. The program managers within Support achieves that goal by offering outstanding project management and process improvement through utilizing an exceptional skill set to accomplish objectives and goals.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal cross-functional team members to drive key aspects of support capability planning and implementation.
A day in the life
You will ensure the success of assigned releases for customer support products and tools. You’ll be partnering with the Support Product Managers, Support Engineering team, 3rd party providers and cross-functional teams to ensure releases run smoothly, on time and with quality.
You will drive the cadence for owned releases of internal products used by the Support organization. To be successful you will :
Set schedules for releases driven by data and guidance from project teams.
Identify and mitigate risks, proactively remove obstacles, and handle issues.
Build relationships and trust with influencers and drive programs with compassion and integrity.
Make strategic technical decisions to ensure product development aligns with roadmap and infrastructure.
Drive day-to-day execution activities. Develop and manage project plans, ensure scope is defined, and ensure alignment on activities and timelines.
Track status and communicate. Provide periodic status reporting to management on in flight releases. Keep project teams informed of releases and expectations around them.
Identify process gaps in release processes and drive their closure.
6+ years of technical project / program management experience
Ability to understand and see long term vision and realize incremental goals toward the vision
Solid program management skills with demonstrated experience owning deliver end to end
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
Ability to influence, empower and align people across a broad variety of job functions to deliver large products and projects on tight deadlines
Proven ability to think both strategically and tactically in a high energy, fast paced environment
Experience identifying process gaps, measuring progress and balancing engineering and product efficiency with process overhead
Strong passion for quality and a critical thinker with attention to details
Sufficient technical background to understand the products that you are managing. You are self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies.
