THE ROLE

The Sr. Director of Strategic Partnerships will create and build eBay’s enterprise level partnerships strategy with a newly formed team.

This leader will partner with and advise eBay’s C-level executives and other leaders, to unlock value and drive significant new growth opportunities globally.

This executive will lead and partner cross-functionally with Strategy, Analytics, Product & Engineering, Markets, Marketing, and other teams, to build business cases and drive end to endglobal partnership execution, influencing how eBay grows and innovates in the future.

In addition, this person will be responsible for ongoing support, evaluation and development of select key global partners.

The Strategic Partnerships team powers business velocity through partnerships and joint ventures that bring our buyer and seller communities together, create amazing customer experiences, accelerate innovation, and advance eBay’s strategy.

The Sr. Director of Strategic Partnerships will have a demonstrated track record of leading large complex partnerships and joint ventures at a global scale, leveraging excellent business insight and strategic prowess.

This leader is well networked with established relationships within the consumer technology space, evangelizing eBay and creating interest.

Leading a high-impact team, this leader will serve as strategic advisor to eBay’s executive leadership team on all aspects of the global strategic partnerships process.

This leader will report to the VP, Corporate Strategy.

Key Responsibilities :

Create the vision and strategy of eBay Strategic Partnerships, aligning it with eBay’s global Strategy, building and leading the end-to-end global partnerships program

Own all aspects of the partnership deal, including sourcing andexecution (incl.identification, qualification, initial rationale / pitch, evaluation and financial analysis) closing activities and post-close monitoring

Source and maintain an active pipeline of potential global strategic partnership opportunities for eBay’s internal & external sources while keeping close ties with eBay executives and key partners (e.

g., Corporate Development, Corporate Venturing); present findings / insights to senior management on a quarterly basis

  • Manage and support existing eBay’s strategic partnerships portfolio, incl. ongoing evaluation and development of existing key global strategic partners;
  • establish KPIs and success measures and tracking progress against the goals and hitting critical targets

    Lead, develop and coordinate a globalhigh-performing Strategic Partnershipsteam,also working closely with eBay cross-functional teams, as well as serve as a primary point of contact to partner company leaders

    Build and evangelize eBay’s Strategic Partnerships brand both internally and externally

    Job Requirements :

    MBA or other advanced degree from a top tier university

    Provenstrategic partnerships senior leadership experience (10+ years), ideally within the consumer technology space; Private equity experience is helpful

    Strong track record of leading large complex partnerships and joint ventures

    Heavily networked, with strong relationships within consumer technology communities, and potentially start-up field and investment community

    Strong analytical skills, fluency in performing rigorous financial, valuation and broad quantitative analyses and familiarity with accounting & key operational metrics

    Strategic thinker who serves as thought leader and partner, with a growth mindset

    Excellent negotiation capabilities, with a track record of closing deals that unlock value

    Ability to attract, lead and inspire a high performing team

    Ability to develop a strong point of view combined with the openness to evolving that view based on new data; Collaborative team player who is also an independent thinker

    Superlative communication and presentation skills; must have a confident presence
