About the Role :

A Supplier Engineer Senior role concentrates in general on all aspects of supplier selection, supplier process & material changes and technical support for all purchased commodities in BSC Coyol.

The Materials Supplier Engineering Team is responsible for the technical leadership and resolution functionally feasible engineering projects to support achieving year-on-year material cost reduction targets.

Acts as a liaison between suppliers and BSC groups to manage and drive engineering projects with financial benefit.

Your Responsibilities Include :

  • Demonstrate Technical Leadership skills in Supplier Management and in supporting structured technical investigations for components & material cost reduction opportunities.
  • Assess value and financial impact for new business opportunities and value add engineering projects.
  • Manage and support the identification and development of new or existing supply sources with Global Sourcing colleagues.
  • Collaborates with other BSC cross functional resources in identifying insourcing / outsourcing opportunities.

  • Interfaces with suppliers to understand component / material processes and technical considerations. Partners with key suppliers to create efficiencies and value.
  • Proactively identify and drive Materials Value Improvement Projects (MVIP’s) with suppliers at all Tiers in the supply chain.
  • Takes into consideration the impact of design requirements on the supplier process and overall component cost impact.

  • Participates and leads project teams, cooperating with cross functional members to qualify and improve supplier processes.
  • Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.

    Competent in the use of relevant business tools including material qualification activities, and change impact assessments.

  • Develop and execute department budgets headcount, overhead / project spend and capital planning / control
  • Competent to execute material qualification activities (component qualification, acceptance testing, statistical analysis) and knowledgeable in use of all relevant business tools and concepts (product data management).
  • Develop negotiation strategies with Global Sourcing colleagues to maximize value add initiatives.
  • Directly interfaces with suppliers with support from Sourcing category team members to support implementation of new processes and lean manufacturing tools.
  • Play a lead role in the development of Category Strategies in conjunction with Commercial colleagues and Supplier Quality Team
  • Serves as the technical representative on a category team, participates in category team strategies, and delivers to short and long-term goals.
  • What We’re Looking For :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials, Chemical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, Electronic, Electrical Industrial or equivalent experience.
  • English Level required : B2 (70% - 79%).
  • Desired knowledge : Tools (Statistics, Technical Manuals, Kaizen,Six Sigma), Process Improvement, AutoCAD, and Solid Works.
  • Project management : ability to influence cross functional global teams spanning quality, operations, R&D, and sourcing.
  • Desirable experience in medical device, automotive, aeronautical, semiconductor, or other regulated industry.
  • Ability to work independently; organized and self-driven.
  • Strong bias for action and results orientation is critical
  • Individual must be self-driven and self-motivated to learn and use that knowledge to produce results. Ability to work independently;

  • Good understanding of statistical methods, six sigma methodologies, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Articulate communicator; adept at packaging and appropriately scaling information to the intended audience.
  • Desirable knowledge and experience in material testing.
  • At least 4-5 years of experience in similar position.
