Job Description

Adobe's Photography Team is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, self-organized Senior Software Developer to join our cross-platform Data Synchronization team.

You will be a part of our Wichita Foundation team to work on our sync Engine for Lightroom.

Join our team dedicated to the development of mobile and desktop software to manage and synchronize large amounts of photos and enable magical smooth photo experiences for our users across platforms and devices.

You will be contributing to the Mac, Win, iOS and Android versions of Adobe’s next generation photography applications. In the world of digital photography, we want our users to experience only the best products and have the easiest workflows to storage, edit and enjoy their images.

You will work on a cross-platform Lua and C codebase that runs on iOS, Android, MacOS, and Win. Should have a deep knowledge and strong expertise in document-based databases and data synchronization protocols.

Looking for strong experience in Lua development and Functional Programming, passion to dive into the inner workings of operating systems and network communication and be passionate about performance and automated testing.

You will help to improve our cross-platform document-based database and ReactiveX framework.

We are looking for someone who is able and willing to work in a team, collaborate across teams, support your colleagues, but also be flexible and independent enough to get things done on your own.

Creativity and strong capacity to manage multiple projects are a must. We appreciate self-starters who think independently and come up with problem-solving ideas.

What you’ll do

  • Work as part of a dedicated, high-energy team to develop code that spans multiple Adobe products.
  • Develop new features and improve existing code in Lua, C, C++, Objective C, Java applying functional programming paradigms
  • Maintain exceptional development standards, especially related to performance, robustness, and testing.
  • Proactively learn new languages, libraries, and platforms as needed. Adapt quickly to changing requirements.
  • Stay current with the latest development best practices and share your findings with the team
  • What you need to succeed

  • BS / MS degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of experience in programming.
  • Expertise in Lua or C / C++ programming.
  • Expertise in Functional Programming
  • Fluency in SQL and NoSQL datastores
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems across a distributed system
  • Excellent communication skills (we’re a geographically distributed team)
  • Experience creating and maintaining unit tests and continuous integration.
  • Passion for creating quality applications customers love to use
