This role will be part of the Customs Valuation Service and Incoterms Service, providing a timely and effective service globally across all business units.

The Customs Valuation Service supports and provide and maintain methodologies that ensure the allocation of defendable and justifiable customs valuations for all our shipments in accordance with Corporate Policy and the World Trade Organization (WTO) Customs Valuation Agreement.

The Incoterms Service supports with the application and use of GSK approved international commercial terms (Incoterms®) in line with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) guidance.

Your Responsibilities : This role gives YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, the main of these are

Innovation

  • Identify, define, and deploy key projects and initiatives to address performance gaps and continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery.
  • Assess system capabilities and define program of work to rectify gaps and issues identified on an ongoing basis formulating business case for process and system changes.
  • Striving to use the various Metrics to improve the processes and efficiencies of the Services.
  • Performance

  • Resolve and reply to queries through the Trade Compliance Service Request (TCSR) from users and stakeholders within Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintenance and support of the GSK Research & Development Valuation Tool, and various BOTs to ensure that the customs valuations are updated per the employed process / methodologies and any IT issues are managed.
  • Perform analysis of data to determine and support the determination of a value for customs duty purposes and evaluate and assign the use of the most favourable Incoterms®.
  • Trust

  • Ensure changes to regulations either globally or locally are identified and embedded into GSK’s approved valuation methodologies.
  • Proactive management of customs valuation related risks and GSK approved Incoterms® in accordance with GSK’s strategic priorities.
  • Operate effective governance, processes and measures are delivered in accordance with regulations and business needs.

    Basic Qualifications : We are looking for professionals with these characteristics to achieve our goals :

  • Degree or an equivalent technical qualification.
  • A basic working knowledge of customs valuation in a manufacturing, R&D environment, and commercial environment.
  • A basic working knowledge of Incoterms® for R&D shipments and commercial shipments.
  • A basic understanding of trade compliance knowledge.
  • An understanding of Transfer Pricing (TP), Value-added Tax (VAT), and General Sales Tax (GST) would be an advantage.
  • Analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to analyse data.
  • Ability to present to, and engage with GSK stakeholders in the business, and with third parties.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Good communication and people skills.
  • Ability to work within a team, and driving independent initiatives / projects.
