    Job Summary :

  • Looking for a motivated Software Development Engineer to design and develop Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 802.15.4 wireless communications components for NXP Semiconductor wireless network products.
  • Write design specifications based on the system and software feature requirement.
  • Develop software for standard based and proprietary Wi-Fi or Bluetooth features.
  • Pre-silicon validation and software development on Palladium and FPGA platforms.
  • Post-silicon bring-up, verification and software development on reference design platforms.
  • Work on system integration and performance tuning.
  • Key Challenges :

  • Working on networking protocols and in particular wireless requires a strong understanding of the protocols used in order to define the functional spec and troubleshoot issues.
  • Develop software / firmware on embedded system can be a challenge for limited hardware resource (memory, CPU processing power, etc.
  • and troubleshoot difficulty.

  • Wireless testing can be a challenge as RF properties change across different materials, (walls, car bodies, metal objects, etc.
  • and the behavior changes in the presence of other RF signals, (interference) making it harder to control and troubleshoot.

    Cross functional aspects :

  • Working in the chip industry like NXP will expose you to software, firmware and all kinds of hardware resource experts.
  • The position will be part of the wireless software team working among other senior technical members and interacting with various hardware peer teams and application engineers to complete a full product engineering lifecycle.

  • The position requires developing software / firmware to enable a wireless SOC that resides within a product. This involves getting familiar not only with wireless protocols but also OSes like Linux, Android, Apple IOS, Windows, RTOS and on various different platforms in different environments.
  • Job Qualifications :

  • BS / MS in EE / CE / CS or equivalent in embedded design area is required
  • Up to 2 years experience including internships
  • The candidate should have a good understanding of wired and wireless networking in general.
  • Proficient in C programming language. Working knowledge of ARM assembly is a plus.
  • Knowledge of TCP / IP networking protocols is required.
  • Knowledge of Wi-Fi (802.11a / b / g / n / ac / ax) or Bluetooth / 802.15.4 is desired
  • Experience with Linux kernel and driver development is desired
  • Experience with cross platform firmware development on embedded system is desired
  • Experience with host interfaces like PCIe, USB, SDIO, UART is desired
