The HR Business Partner is both a strategic business partner and a hands-on professional who advises and consults with departments on HR related issues.
In addition, this role provides solutions that support business objectives. Perform various HR duties in areas such as employee relations, performance management, employee education / training, compliance administration and other special projects.
May have some international HR responsibilities. Support VP of HR with special projects as required.
Counsel, coach and advise managers in all areas of HR
Partner with line management to model, shape and assess an organizational culture that supports the achievement of business objectives
Identify general employee training needs and individual management coaching needs
Conduct job analysis and FLSA exemptions tests
Provide effective reporting and analysis of HR data, including headcount report, HR metrics, Affirmative Action Plan, etc.
Workers’ compensation management
Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Demonstrated ability to partner, influence and interface with all levels of the organization
A high level of expertise in the HR function, including employee relations, performance management, employee and leadership development, training, compliance administration and workers’ compensation
Success in creating and driving effective professional development, employee relations, retention and reward programs
Effective analytical skills and a proven track record of success with problem solving and process improvements
In-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, as well as ability to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues
Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws
Perceptive conflict management and negotiation skills
An enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
Strong internal customer focus with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Ability to think independently and creatively without the need to rely exclusively on policies and procedures
A patient and professional demeanor, along with a desire to learn all aspects of the business
BS / BA Degree or equivalent preferred; PHR Certification desirable
Minimum of seven years of HR experience with increasing scope and complex responsibilities in multiple HR areas
Strong knowledge of HR principles and practices, and applicable state and federal labor laws and regulations required
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Relevant industry experience a plus
Expert proficiency with Word, Excel and other computer programs
