To accelerate our growth, Appvance is seeking a Software Sales Engineer to join our Solution Architecture team who can thrive in a fast-paced culture and spearhead technical sales engagements with prospective Fortune 1000 organizations.

What will set you apart?

  • Minimum 2 years Sales Engineering experience in software industry or related field
  • Minimum 2 years Development or equivalent experience with Web or Mobile Apps
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Excellent technical opportunity qualification, discernment and analysis skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding presentations and demonstrations in time constrained situations
  • Ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical audience members
  • Track record of successfully selling to Enterprise accounts
  • Experience with: Test Automation, DevOps, QA EngineeringJavaScript, Web Services, Cloud/AWS, SQL, Bash/Shell, Appium, Selenium (or other automation)

What will you be doing?

As part of the Solution Architecture team, you will take an active role in the sales cycle, create and foster relationships with key technical contacts, demonstrate industry knowledge and build trust as a subject matter expert. You will:

  • Lead sales engineering activities including technical discovery, RFP responses, technical presentations, architectural guidance, answer in-depth customer questions and foster ongoing customer and partner relationships
  • Develop a deep understanding of Appvance IQ (AIQ) capabilities, related technologies, industry trends and implementation strategies
  • Develop strategies on a customer-by-customer basis which lead to AIQ product adoption, plus be able to defend those strategies, overcome objections, and prove implementing AIQ will lower costs and/or increase productivity
  • Create and deliver sales presentations and demonstrations that effectively communicate the benefits of AIQ capabilities, and solve customer pain points in an easy-to-understand fashion
  • Interact with a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences online, onsite, at industry events, webinars, workshops, and user groups; C-level Executives, Managers, Devs, QA Engineers, Manual Testers, Business Analysts
  • Architect and execute Proof of Concept plans to achieve technical selection over the competition
  • Provide customers guidance transitioning to AIQ, translating business requirements, use cases and overall objectives into technical solutions
  • Create and deliver technical training during the key pre- to post-sales transition, initiating the customer onboarding process
  • Drive engagement with product management, marketing and customers on existing gaps, features, and product strategies, often translating customer requirements into specific recommendations for product improvement
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure ongoing support and success for our customers

What do you need?

  • Minimum 2 years Sales Engineering experience in software industry or related field
  • Minimum 2 years Development or equivalent experience with Web or Mobile Apps
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated ability to create and deliver technical sales presentations, webinars and speak at industry trade shows or events
  • Demonstrated ability to discern technical requirements, fit and recommend next steps for prospective accounts and to expand existing accounts
  • Experience providing pre-sales support and solution architecture recommendations
  • Basic JavaScript fluency
  • Fluency across Windows, Mac/Unix
  • The ability to discern demonstrations from training, and deliver based on needs
  • Familiarity with the SDLC and various testing methodologies, such as Agile and DevOps
  • Track record of strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of industry sales cycles
  • Any suitable combination of education or experience is acceptable
  • Travel as needed (Mostly USA)
