This is for you!A data asset manager is a practitioner of data management, a subject area concerned with establishing and controlling data quality, availability required throughout the data supply chain to ensure the right business decisions are made.
The role typically requires working with upstream data supply and downstream publishing as well as with the clients and users, such as a Business Units Data Governance CouncilKey responsibilitiesDATA PURCHASE : Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure Data Governance best in class practices are implemented in the data purchase contracts while buying data from 3rd parties.
DATA SUFFICIENCY : Assess the data sufficiency in terms of timeliness, completeness, availability, accuracy as well as readiness to be ingested towards P&G data ecosystem.
Performs data readiness assessment to determine, whether data is sufficient to meet business objectiveDATA QUALITY : End-to-end ownership of the data quality across the full data life cycle - starting from data ingestion, thru data processing / harmonization up to data activation.
Establish business and validation rules that define data quality in a measurable way. Track data quality using automation techniques.
Report data quality and take corrective actions if quality metrics are not met.DATA INGESTION / HARMONIZATION : Collaborate with Development teams in charge of ETL process in order to secure the highest quality of data and also define the data transformation / harmonization logic to be in line with corporate master dataDATA ACTIVATION : Sets success criteria and quality controls for data activities in scopeDATA SECURITY & STEWARDSHIP : Establish proper archival, retention, privacy policies per data type, notably with regards to Data Type Security Requirements and in alignment with overall security policies.
Document and mitigate information security and risk.DATA STANDARDS : Establish data standards per types of data for local Master Data.
Maintain data dictionary (definition of data standards) and data catalog (information about data types available and how to use them)DATA GOVERNANCE : Define data management project scope based on business requirements.
