Akamai’s Service Delivery Americas team is seeking a detail-oriented Program Manager - II to plan, communicate, execute, and drive business, strategic, and technical programs.

This role reports into the Sr. Director, Service Delivery Americas and involves working directly with the Service Delivery Americas leadership team and other Program Managers within the Global Services & Support organization .

To succeed in this role, this individual must excel at problem solving, be comfortable in and around technical work, be an organized self-

starter with demonstrated ability to learn new systems and tools, prioritize activities, and generate high quality deliverables.

This individual will effectively apply internal standards, plan new work, share the results of ongoing work, and facilitate communications between teams while also considering the big picture.

Responsibilities :

Executing new initiatives & documenting best practices for existing processes, standardizing approaches, and always absorbing new ideas to keep improving.

Scope, plan, schedule, and estimate resources based on general goals to develop program plans addressing business strategy, process improvement programs, and tactical projects.

Highlight opportunities and provide practical, action-focused recommendations.

Developing a framework for effective standardization across various teams within the organization.

Plan and lead regular core team meetings and drive the team towards delivery of program objectives. Where necessary develop creative solutions to resolve obstacles.

Document actions and decisions arising from the meetings and communicate top priorities to senior management.

Develop, edit, maintain, and publish program and project documentation including schedules, risk management reports, dependencies, and resource estimates for various initiatives.

Communicate results of work and program status, including regular program review material. Identify areas of risk and opportunity, manage conflicts, and collaboratively create mutually acceptable solutions.

Required Experience & Education :

5+ years of overall professional experience with 2+ years as a project manager / program manager in a technical organization

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a STEM field

Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ownership to drive projects / initiatives to completion.

Self-starter with proven ability to manage programs effectively balancing long-term goals with day-to-day operational objectives.

Strong interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to put structure where there isn’t any and see a program end-to-end.

Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and to redirect team focus in response to changing priorities

Detail-oriented, with a drive to investigate and dissect information with a strong focus on quality - strong excel skills is a plus.

Ability to work cross-functionally and interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

Strong understanding of business processes, internal controls, and audit process.

Ability to thrive in both individual and team environments.

Knowledge of JIRA and other Program Management tools is a plus.

Solid analytical and presentation skills.
