3M is seeking a Team Lead as part of the Enterprise Development & Integration team for the Information Technology / Corporate Staffing Group located in Costa Rica.

Job Summary

This person will be responsible for managing the development and support teams delivering improvement projects across IT Application.

The incumbent will lead the design and development processes to provide the required artifacts and realization deliverables.

This position requires advanced knowledge of various programming languages, databases, and IT infrastructure as well as the ability to work within cross-

functional teams from different businesses and various countries in a complex organization with differences in language, culture and time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Provide work direction for the SAP and Integration development and Support Team.
  • Drive improvements in the common processes as needed.
  • Coordinate closely with process / business team, business project resources, consultants, and resources in to ensure timely and successful deployment of projects.
  • Make recommendations to design / development teams to achieve best practices and high performance.
  • Applies broad knowledge and extensive experience to deal with variation in work conditions and operations to solve complex and diverse problems.
  • Resolves issues and conflicts related to direct reports
  • Initiates and leads efforts in analyzing requirements to help determine appropriate design and solution.
  • Review and approve technical specifications to ensure adherence to development and document standards.
  • Develop and validate project plans for application design and development work. Review and adjust as necessary to ensure timelines are met.
  • Provide oversight during application code development. Ensure adequate unit testing of code.
  • Participate in complex code reviews and provide feedback. Ensure standards are followed. Document action items and ensure follow through.
  • Provide final approval of code.

  • Monitor development defects and provide input to drive process improvements as necessary.
  • Provide training on information technology systems and standards
  • Validate appropriate skills and process prerequisites of development resources.
  • Provide technical expertise for resolving escalated application issues. Participate in crisis meetings as necessary.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of SAP application components. Teach / share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Help with regular reviews and analysis of incident management data to highlight causes of frequent or high impact failures and suggest preventative action
  • Recommend operational continuous improvement opportunities, service efficiency initiatives, and business process improvement to better serve business needs
  • Meet agreed upon service levels and budgetary guidelines defined in the Service Level Agreement
  • Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in development / support of SAP applications and / or in Middleware Solutions.
  • Minimum two (2) years of project management experience
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading teams and projects
  • ABAP development experience
  • Experience in Integrations with atleast one of the Middleware SAP PI, Software AG’s webMethod, IBM Sterling Integrator for EDI / BTB.
  • Experience with EDI standard data formats (ANSI X12, EDIFACT, etc.)
  • Experience with global ERP projects
  • Experienced and well researched on current technologies that support SAP and PI
  • Experience with one or more full lifecycle SAP implementations
  • Experience working with co-source / offshore vendors on development projects
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (SOX, FDA, etc.)
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and team collaboration skills
  • Relationship building skills with counterparts at SAP and other partners
  • Knowledge of XML, XSLT, web service standards
  • Knowledge of SOA.
  • Knowledge and understanding of software development and testing methodologies
  • Knowledge and understanding of operational support processes (e.g. ITIL)
  • Experience using HP Service Management or similar tool
  • Strong customer relationship skills
  • Effectively participate in virtual, global and distributed teams
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, active inquiry skills, strong written communication skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical analysis skills
  • Must be able to work non-traditional hours as needed
