Job Title : Language Lead

POSITION OVERVIEW :
Engages through the project lifecycle and final delivery.
Analyzes source text, assesses any language related issues before project start, puts together the linguistic portion of the translation packages, and maintains the linguistic assets of projects.
Takes care of the maintenance of glossaries, TMs, updates, linguistic checks (using CAT tools, e.g., Linguistic Toolbox), and performs spot check on the files to check the compliance of the delivered translations.
May also perform translation, editing, proofreading and / or linguistic testing in their native language.
Compiles language quality data.
What You Will Do :
Perform small linguistic tasks such as translation, editing, proofreading, linguistic testing, on an as needed basis.
Analyze source project files to assess the linguistic requirements and terminology needs and prepare instructions for external translation partners.
Assess potential linguistic issues and make recommendations on risks and contingencies.
Participate in defining the language strategy, coordinate all linguistic activities to ensure correct execution of plan, and provide input for post-project analysis.
Drive development, implementation, and maintenance of linguistic assets, such as glossary creation, update, upload, cleanup and conversion, TM maintenance, and LTB rules.
Perform Quality Control steps : Spot checks files to ensure that they comply with the project's instructions, LLQA, etc.
Manage linguistic issues and queries.
Drive client review processes.
Participate in client meetings.
Track and analyze language quality data.
Document and implement process improvements on assigned accounts.
Participate in TMS workflow creation / updates.
Participate in the process to implement Machine Translation.
Provide input about preferred partners during LCX implementation.
Be compliant with LQI Triggers and create LQI form as required to evaluate partners when needed.
Work with the PCs and PMs to maintain a list of preferred partners with good quality records.
Be compliant with all ISO & LEO procedures.
Solve problems with some level of support.
Identify opportunities to leverage gained knowledge into the Language Department.
Promptly notify manager about any problems that affect your ability to accomplish planned goals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :
College Degree (Bachelor's degree or higher) in Linguistics, Translation, or language-related domain.
2+years of professional experience in translation, localization, or related fields is strongly preferred.
Native fluency in 1+ non-English language(s).
Knowledge of Localization Processes, Translation Memory tools, Terminology management processes and computer-assisted translation software.
Skills for vendor communication in localization industry.
Ability to give clear, concise, and constructive advice and feedback.
Ability to manage larger and / or global projects.
Excellent command of Microsoft Office applications.
