Success in the Role : What are the performance outcomes over the first 6- months you will work toward completing?

The Analyst, Commissions Finance will support from the business perspective the SAPC and reporting systems along with the day-to-day management of the case management systems, through the partnering with the Finance Systems & Solutions (FSS) (SAPC system owner), SAPC Dev IT, Reporting, and Commission Finance teams to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and consistency in the payment calculation and execution of the Commission Plan.

The right individual for this role is a commissions and technically passionate person working towards operational excellence, great attention to detail, good business partnering & presentation skills and proven ability to work with large data set in a fast-paced environment while helping other members of the team attain the same goals.

The Work : What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

Responsibilities :

  • Partner with different levels of stakeholders to ensure SLAs are met, process excellence is achieved, drive process improvement, adopt best practices, and address needs to resolve issues in a timely manner with the associated communication, as needed.
  • Execute the timely and accurate administration of the commission inquiry queues within established SLAs. Conduct investigations and / or analysis as needed on applicable inquiries.
  • Assist the SAPC business point of contact to assist the FSS, Dev IT, Reporting, and Commissions Analysts in fielding system-related questions, and general queries to establish a uniform and clear understanding of the SAPC requirements and structure to meet the established compensation policy.
  • Support post deployment Smoke Testing validation activities.
  • Own the knowledge of the different SOX controls, VMware, Inc. Sales Compensation Plan Terms & Conditions (T&Cs), and the worldwide compensation plan design (Comp Deck), and the adherence to documented SLAs with supporting business partners.
  • Participate in the integration of compensation processes related to Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A).
  • Provide support on the decommissioned sales compensation system as required.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as required.
  • Qualifications :

  • Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting or equivalent related work experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on commissions experience.
  • Prior experience with SAPC or Varicent.
  • Excellent team player with strong problem solving, organization, and process management skills.
  • Self-starter with drive, passion, and willing to succeed by leveraging analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Possessing solid communication skills is crucial.
  • Ability to preemptively identify and evaluate potential issues.
  • Active learner, open to honest and constructive feedback as well as ongoing coaching.
  • Works collaboratively within a strong team environment.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.

    The Commissions Finance Global Operations Team is the key connecting point between Finance, FSS, Sales Planning and Incentive, Sales Operations, Reporting, and SAPC Dev IT.

    We are professionals with advanced analytical skills, solid understanding of the sales compensation cycle, very detail-oriented individuals, and experienced communicators.

    We directly support the Commissions Finance Team who has worldwide responsibilities for managing the commissions plans and resulting earnings that get submitted to Payroll and administering the deployment of compensation plans to the Sales Field.

    Where is this role located?

    America Free Zone, Heredia, Costa Rica

    The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager.

    You will be expected to live within a reasonable non-daily commute of the office.
