Systems Administrator Senior will be responsible for documentation, deployment and troubleshooting of the complete EMS Windows environment including, but not limited to : W2K3 / 8 / 12, Active Directory, backup solutions (ideally Netbackup), VMWare, Virtual Center, IIS, SQL, SCCM, SSL Certificates, Clustering, HP Server support, System Insight Manager, Bladelogic, Anti-Virus.
The goal of this position is to leverage your System Administrator talents and build your coding skills to become a key member of our System Reliability Team.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (or comparable experience)
Minimum 5 years of experience working in a systems administrator function
Experience building servers in physical, blade and virtual environments
Knowledge of ITIL processes and experience with ticket tracking software, specifically CA USD
Proven skills with Microsoft Operating Systems, Windows Server, 2008 and 2012
Process and systems automation experience : PowerShell, Visual Basic Script and .BAT
Experience deploying security patches and solving security vulnerabilities
Desire to learn Programming languages, Java, c or python
Desire to build an infrastructure that can identify outages and resolve them quickly.
Experience with Splunk a plus.
Experience with linux / unix or AIX a plus
Experience with SQL a Plus
Experience supporting remote locations is critical
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with internal / external customers, vendors, management etc.
in both formal and informal situations
There will be occasions when the candidate will be required to work unsocial hours. The candidate will also be part of an out of hours on-call rotation.
