We’re seeking a Manager, Physical Security, based in our Costa Rica office Sound interesting? Here are some specifics :

  • Analyse the company’s operations to determine potential liabilities or risks : perform risk assessments for offices, departments, staff, etc.
  • as requested by the Regional Physical Security Senior Manager.

  • Investigate security incidents that occur in the assigned region; partner with Internal Investigations, Human Resources, Ethics, Legal, etc.
  • Manage the development and implementation of access and perimeter control operational procedures, conveying and verifying security requirements as per the Western Union standard documents, including : electronic and physical security systems to include overseeing the badge process;
  • applying and maintaining appropriate security controls to comply with SOX, SAS-70, PCI, internal and external regulatory requirements

  • Act as a liaison in the areas of the design and application of physical security systems for Western Union office locations, including implementation, administration and maintenance of central access control, closed circuit television systems, alarm systems and awareness training to employees, and request management software
  • Assist corporate real estate when reviewing new office space or moving locations as it relates to risk and implementation of security controls;
  • conduct risk assessments of office location and or assets as directed to by Regional Physical Security Senior Manager.

  • Assist in supporting the company’s executive facilitation / protection and event planning programs and supporting, as needed, other shared service such as Crisis Management and Business Continuity planning
  • Maintain high degree of discretion to ensure company’s interests and confidentiality are always protected
  • Manage the regions physical security procurement processes and requisitions
  • Manage and support the Global Security assets for all aspects of our Global Security programs. This includes support to all supported aspects of the Company in real time, minimizing risk due to system errors or failures : strong problem-
  • solving skills and the ability to utilize procedures as a guideline for executing a response are a must. No event fits neatly into a planned response, this individual must be very adaptable

  • Manage systems and daily reports associated with this program
  • Periodically represent Western Union at industry standards meetings, security threat prevention consortiums, and all other forums that develop next generation security enhancements
  • Build strong relationships with industry partners, technology vendors and other Western Union internal teams
  • Participate in creating and maintaining a safe and secure workplace in Western Union facilities
  • Partner with other Global Security teams to assist with Executive Protection, Event Security and Crisis Management programs as needed
  • What you will need to succeed :

  • Bachelor’s degree in an area of study relevant to this position or 5 years progressive experience in the armed forces, security, military police or with a major law enforcement organization;
  • public or private sector security organization is required

  • Experience with access control and camera systems implementation and maintenance proficiency with the following systems is preferred : Software House C-
  • Cure 9000 and FLIR (DVTEL) products

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English (speaking and verbal) Experience with Project Management experience (at least 5 years)

  • Experience in law enforcement or private industry specializing in financial crime investigations, fraud prevention and detection, risk assessment or compliance investigations
  • Experience in AML Compliance, legal / analytical / financial research, Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, FinCEN, general risk-based compliance
  • Strong investigative instincts and a background in financial crimes investigations
  • Law enforcement network a plus
