Who You Are

An experienced Human Resources professional with a minimum of 8 years of broad human resources experience with the last 5 years serving as a HR Business Partner implementing programs that promote a fair and equitable work environment.

You have comprehensive knowledge of HR programs, policies and procedures, organizational development, and employment / labor laws particularly in the state of California.

You are an effective team member and communicator who proactively identifies and contributes constructively to address broad employee or team issues, providing mentoring and coaching to staff within assigned business groups that supports the culture, company direction, and growth needs of the business and our employee-owners.

You are a human resources professional who has significant experience working in a variety of HR areas, such as performance management, talent development, employee relations, retention and policy administration.

Experience working at a multi-office and multi-state professional services organization is preferred.

You possess exceptional oral and presentation skills and have successfully facilitated HR training workshops and coaching sessions, and lead performance improvement and change management discussions.

You hold a Bachelor’s degree with major course work in human resources, organizational development, or a related interdisciplinary field.

A certification, such as PHR / PHRca / SPHR is preferred. Experience with an integrated payroll / HRIS platform is required, experience with PayCom is helpful.

What You Will Do for ESA

As a member of the human resources team you will lead employee engagement programs in collaboration with your business unit’s scientists, designers and other specialists in support of the current and future needs of the business.

Provide mentorship and support at all staff levels, including providing constructive feedback and career development guidance.

You will demonstrate a clear understanding of human resources principles, practices and employment law, and be responsible for providing expert and objective advice and counsel to leaders and employee-owners on HR programs, policies and procedures, employment / labor laws, performance management, and diversity and inclusion to promote a fair and equitable work environment.

Serve as a trusted coach providing strategic direction and input to business leaders regarding overall people strategies, and while addressing sensitive and / or confidential issues with ESA leaders, employee-owners and other stakeholders.

You will maintain employment information that is clear, concise, and well supported.

Consistently demonstrate your attentive listening skills and exceptional presentation skills while participating in and / or leading staffing meetings, interviews, business group meetings, and training workshops, presenting information clearly and concisely.

You will thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment, connecting the dots at a strategic level while completing day-to-day tasks working on a team or independently.
