  • The Payments Product Manager is key to delivering the Sage Payments strategy enabling payments into businesses such as invoice payments and payments out of businesses such as a supplier (vendor) and payroll payments and driving execution across our key regions.

    Regulatory changes (i.e. PSD2 and Open Banking) and acceleration of digitization for businesses are revolutionizing the way technology can enable financial services in other ecosystems.

    Sage is at the front of this revolution and requires a Product Manager to own and deliver a winning strategy across both global and local initiatives.

    The Product Manager will own the integration strategy for Payments and work closely with Product Marketing and Product Engineering to enable agile and innovative delivery that is commercially successful.Key Responsibilities

  • Set clear and compelling product vision
  • Define product strategy needed to achieve ambitions
  • Support the commercial success of the product
  • Deep understanding of customer, market (inc. partners) and competitors
  • Build product roadmap packed with customer value
  • Build opportunity case for investments
  • Define detailed customer and solution requirement
  • Align roadmap needs + engineer requirements
  • Act as a go-to-person for product information
  • Ensure on time and on scope of product delivery
  • Own + resolve product issues
  • Payments & Banking advocate (internal & external audience)
  • Qualifications : Must have :

    Must have :

  • 7-10 years’ experience product management in core or ancillary products
  • Strong understanding of the Payments industry and regulations impacting it, particularly in the US
  • Understanding of the payments landscape and how the needs and pain points for medium businesses differ to small businesses
  • Experience of cloud and on-premise software
  • Experience of listening, probing, and interpreting the needs of various stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience of conceptual and strategic thinking
  • Strong understanding of revenue drivers and commercial frameworks (e.g. business case development)
  • Objection handling
  • Customer / partner listening and engagement
  • Presenting and media interaction
  • Requirements management
  • Design, iteration, mock-ups
  • Multi-touch communication (From QA to CEO to customers and partners)
  • Comfortable to operate in a matrix-based organization and with an ambiguous mandate
  • Preferred :

  • Product Management experience in an agile development environment
  • Experience operating in a matrix management organization
  • Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping software and / or practices advantageous
  • Knowledge of Canada beneficial
