As part of the amazing HR function, the HR Systems team is responsible for enabling Human Resources systems, data and technology by collaborating with Subject Matter Experts in HR and working with partner organizations (IT, Payroll, HR Operations and vendors) to deliver programs, initiatives and solutions to complex business problems.

The Business Analyst position in the HR Systems organization primary responsibility is to provide expertise around HP's Core Human Capital Management System (HCM) functionality, business processes and configuration specifically for the Human Resources function.

This role will have the opportunity to work across many areas of HP to analyze a rich collection of strategies, processes and systems specific to HR.

Also, this position will work with a variety of people and technologies to evaluate system solutions and delivery mechanisms for our internal customers, while finding creative new ways of partnering with different business teams, functional groups, and IT partners to deliver new and enhanced processes and tools.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following :

  • Represent and drive HR systems needs
  • Conduct business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost / benefit analysis in an effort to align HR system solutions with business initiatives
  • Work with business users to define and analyze problems and align the most appropriate technical application or configuration solutions
  • Consider the business implications or the application of technology to the current and future business environment
  • Solicit, develop, document and manage business and technical requirements and provide detailed design and business rules to support the requirements throughout project life cycle up to and through change control
  • Manage configuration of one or more HR systems
  • Understand dependencies of all relevant systems that impact HR data
  • In partnership with IT, build systems plan and roadmap for HR business needs
  • Work closely in partnership with HR business and functional teams to understand the business processes and be able to represent these business processes and business needs to HRIT
  • Partner with internal customers, examining complex issues or concerns to find a long-term solution, both process and system related
  • Develop detailed implementation plans and update project plans in conjunction with other system analysts
  • Document processes, procedures, or new approaches
  • Identify operation issues, gaps and lead implementation of a system solution related to Human Resources Master Data processes
  • Work cooperatively with business analysts to ensure all enhancements are fully tested
  • Provide initial assessment of change requests and system issues and partner with IT as necessary to troubleshoot or correct problems
  • Maintain and cultivate relations with key customer and IT contacts
  • Assist with and / or manage documentation, including user guides, training materials, and release notes
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Resources or a closely related discipline
  • Minimum of 2-6 years’ experience in HR or technical related area
  • Basic level knowledge of system architectures and software development methodologies
  • Demonstrate the highest level of integrity and professionalism
  • Solid project management skills, especially coordinating / managing a number of projects at the same time, with well-developed sense of urgency, precision and follow through
  • Detail oriented with superior analytical, problem solving, pragmatism and organization skills
  • Strong business analysis skills
  • Proven experience working in project oriented high-performing teams
  • Strong personal networking skills with the ability to relate to executives and employees through all organizational levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex business and technical topics to a wide array of business, technical, and executive audiences
  • Independent worker and definite self-starter
  • Understanding of HR systems such as Taleo, PeopleSoft, Saba, Workday a plus
  • Experience working with enterprise systems is a plus
  • Experience in large size companies with multiple functions / business units is a plus
  • Workday certification is a plus
