Job Description

The VMware Hands-on Labs deliver a fully operational live desktop environment for customers to experience VMware products.

With more than 1 Million labs delivered to date, the Hands-on Labs is a key component of VMware’s marketing and sales efforts.

VMware is looking for a Support Engineer to join the Hands-on Labs team. You will be called upon to leverage your skills and experience to support Hands-on Labs content that educates customers on how to understand and best utilize VMware products.

Members of the Hands-on Labs are expected to be virtualization experts as well as evangelists who have a deep understanding of VMware’s technologies and know how to integrate them into end-to-end solutions that address the business and IT challenges of VMware's customers.

As a member of the Hands-on Labs team, you will be responsible for investigating, resolving if possible and responding to customers reporting troubles with Hands-n Labs.

And if necessary engaging with internal engineering teams and content stakeholders to resolve issues and support the on-going use of labs.

Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting and reporting on the day-to-day operations of the Hands-on Labs’ content and infrastructure to maintain operational efficiency.

Your Responsibilities

  • Investigate and respond to VMware Hands-on Labs support requests.
  • Engage with internal engineering and content owners to resolve lab issues.
  • Monitor and report on back-end portal and infrastructure errors.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot errors with the Hands-on Labs portal, labs and infrastructure.
  • Requirements

  • Previous working experience with VMware products
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell or other)
  • Ability to successfully work across teams.
  • Passion for technologies and solutions, and a strong aptitude for business strategy.
  • Must be a self-starter, and be able to set goals and self-direct your own projects.
  • Exceptional customer and engineering communication skills, strong English skills needed
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability.
  • Computer Science or related technical degree preferred
  • 9am - 5pm US Time (either East cost or West Coast)
  • Available for on-call times
