Business Summary :

The Commissions Finance Team is the key connecting point between Finance, Sales Operations, Sales Planning and Incentives, and Field Sales teams.

We are professionals with advanced analytical skills, solid understanding of the sales compensation cycle, very detail-oriented individuals, and experienced communicators.

The Commissions Finance Team has worldwide responsibilities for managing the commissions plans and resulting earnings that get submitted to Payroll, administering the deployment of compensation plans to the Sales Field as well as consulting with the System Administration Team on the setup of the appropriate compensation framework.

Job Role and Responsibilities :

The primary responsibility of the Commissions Analyst is to ensure accurate and timely calculation of variable compensation to be paid to the Sales Community members as well as partnering with cross-functional teams to initiate / drive / implement process improvements.

Administer all aspects of sales compensation for the assigned regions or business divisions

Complete day to day activities and ensure compliance with VMware sales compensation policies and audit requirements

Ensure timely and accurate plan deployment and monthly payout

Support research requirements from FP&A for accrual and SOX audit

Own and drive closure of commission inquiries / cases

Provide business partner support to regional Sales Operations and Finance to assist with issues resolution

Generate ad-hoc reports periodically and participate in ad-hoc projects as required

Participate in User Acceptance Test for system implementation / upgrade

Assist with driving business process improvements and initiatives

Required Skills :

BA / BS Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting or equivalent related work experience

2+ years of work experience in finance, compensation, and / or sales support

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Strong problem solving, organization, and end to end process management skills

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Willingness to learn and adapt quickly to a high growth environment

Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills

Preferred Skills :

Familiarity with commission system (e.g. Callidus) is a plus
