Product Development Engineer II

As our Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for c reate custom designs using Solidworks and work directly with customers' engineers to create solutions, meet deadlines, and provide customer satisfaction throughout the development and launch cycle.

What you will be doing :

As the Product Development Engineer, you will p erform hand calculations and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) on components and assemblies.

Design products based on manufacturing methods such as injection molding, machining, stamping, etc. using DFM methods. Perform tolerance stack analysis of assemblies including statistical analysis.

You will responsible to maintain and create documentation including test plans, test reports, PFMEA, DFMEA, technical proposals and more.

Also g uiding and working with other Engineers (Domestic and International) and have f requent off-hour communication with international location.

Preferred Skills

Our preferred candidate is someone who has skills preparing and presenting product, process, and troubleshooting reports to all levels of management internally and externally.

This person will have knowledge of the evaluation of manufacturing fabrication processes and the ability to create and oversee the performance of electrical / mechanical test schemes and devices, experience with automated and manual methods of manufacturing, assembly and troubleshooting processes.

What we expect from you :

Our preferred candidate will have a minimum of BSME, BS Physics, similar technical degree, or equivalent experience. MSME, MS Physics, MBA highly desired.

Minimum of 5 years in 3D Modeling (SolidWorks preferred) in a R&D or design environment with exposure to design of thin-walled plastic injection molded parts, cable design, medical device design, or electrical / electronic connector systems development.

  • Experience in product development, manufacturing processes, and development of electrical and mechanical devices; performance of new technology research;
  • creation of product documentation, product testing protocols, and test reporting.

    Background in design for manufacture, quality processes, and documentation of highly regulated (medical or similar) products.

    Experience supporting domestic and off-shore manufacturing is a plus.

    Experience conducting / documenting design reviews, troubleshooting, and technical risk analysis activities.

    Experience computing tolerance stacks of various materials and systems.

    Ability to obtain a passport / visa and travel domestically and internationally as required.

    Fluent college-level English speaking and writing skills.

    Experience with design / production of medical devices under ISO 13485.

    Understanding of manufacturing methods related to plastics and metal fabrication and experience working with injection molders and metal stampers.

    Strong writing skills creating documentation as mandated by ISO 13485, FDA or similar regulations where knowledge of the regulation or standard is required.
