We have an opportunity for someone to join a team of Business Planning IT Support systems specialists that sit within the SEUIT in AstraZeneca.

We have 1 position in Costa Rica. The successful candidate will work alongside colleagues co-located within our regional finance centre’s

  • The efficient gathering and reporting of financial data is vital for AstraZeneca. Finance responsibility is to collect, report, and analyse statutory information and management information enabling the company to meet our statutory requirements and the decision makers to drive our business forward.

    The finance area has to respond quickly to change within the business, the impact of these changes has to be assessed across a portfolio of applications quickly and accurately, and then implemented effectively ensuring the normal running of the financial processes are uninterrupted.

    Close working with business stakeholders, IT and the third-party suppliers is a key success factor.

    We ensure to understand the planning process and its business background to provide support to end-user and also we check if master data is accurate and the systems supporting the processes run smoothly and that access is controlled tightly helping to provide the right information in the right form in the right timeframe.

    We ensure that due process is followed and as we are listed on the US stock exchange, we operate within the SOx framework for statutory reporting.

  • Having vast experience on commercial / business planning is a must have to be able to quickly understand the planning system in use and / or other systems which interact with it (experience in as a business / planning analyst role).
  • While Finance is under transformation in the company (on project mode) the candidate will require to proactively support key milestones in different work streams : testing, training and Hypercare.
  • Ideally the job holder will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on one or more of the Financial systems including Hyperion Planning.
  • Work as a support analyst for the Reporting financial systems, including assessing the impact, developing user requirements for changes, and configuring reporting systems to deliver these changes or working with our IT GTC team to ensure the changes are delivered to the highest quality.
  • Work as a Planning IT Support Analyst for the Hyperion financial systems, planning and actual, including assessing the impact, developing user requirements for changes, and configuring the group planning systems to deliver these changes or working with our IT GTC team to ensure the changes are delivered to the highest quality.
  • During the critical days of the statutory month / quarter-end the person will support the Global users and liaise with business customers.
  • Provide 1st line of support.

  • Helpdesk support for the different SET areas (Commercial, Science, Operations, etc) and monitoring of Financial Planning & Reporting mailbox (FPRS).
  • Contribute as an expert to various projects taking different roles.
  • To understand, capture and deliver business requirements from the wider finance community across a variety of teams.
  • Problem solving inaccuracies in the data model that prohibit the timely update of the financial information either via consultancy to production support teams
  • To work within agreed development and support standards and processes, supporting the business capability and technology roadmaps set by SEUIT.
  • Ensuring Service Management principles are followed for the management of the corporate information model (e.g. ITIL standards for the recording of incidents, problems, requests and changes).

  • Monitor system activity and usage tracking to deliver recommendations to increase performance of data entry forms and reports (e.
  • g. speed of response) or additional capability or information to increase user adoption. Perform Deployments, aggregations, integrations etc.

  • Provide Business Support to the Business Planning team, and the Hyperion end user community.
  • Assist in developing training content, and provide end user Hyperion & Smart view training to the end User community
  • Provide timely communications on behalf of the Hyperion business support team to the Hyperion user community and stakeholders regarding outages, data loads etc.

    Essential :

  • Have Business / Commercial planning experience as well as robust knowledge on the use of planning applications (i.e. Hyperion Planning Tool).
  • Skilled to manage project and change proactively.
  • Expertise to deal with different work streams in a project : test, training, Hypercare.
  • Great communication and teamworking skills (desirable experience working with global teams)
  • Experienced business, data or systems analyst with knowledge of good information management principles.
  • Experience managing and implementing system changes
  • Excellent analytical skills. Recognised methodology for problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Ability to interface with technical and business communities at strategic and detail level.
  • Adequate level of flexibility when working with constant change, always focusing on finding solutions and / or providing support rather than on the issues.
  • Ability to work with a remote line manager.
  • Experience using SAP system.
  • Desirable :

  • Experience of Hyperion Financial Planning / Reporting Support Analyst, OBIEE or similar BI tool
  • Subject matter expert in Oracle Hyperion Administration - System configuration, security modelling, user profiling, business model updates, Financial reporting, Smart View (Oracle Hyperion Planning 11 Certified Implementation Specialist Certification).
  • Demonstrable experience of MS Office Applications including Advanced Excel Skills
  • Demonstrated experience of finance processes
  • ITIL Service Management qualification (Foundation)
  • Knowledge of Oracle eBusiness or similar ERP system
  • Knowledge of OBIEE or similar BI tool
  • Experience of Agile Development methodology
  • Subject matter expert in Financial Planning Processes and Financial reporting standards, gained through relevant study of financial qualifications as CIMA or ACCA (PART QUALIFIED OR FINALIST STAGE OR QBE)
  • Testing and training experience
  • Education :

    Business Administration / Industrial Engineering or Computer Science degree

    Languages :

    Advanced English Language skills

    Intermediate Portuguese : Desirable
