Key Responsibilities
Strategic Ledger senior lead to help design and define the future state of Citi’s global ledger platform for content, functionalities, and controls
Manage Citi’s Global Ledger Standard Policies across the Strategic Ledger & Consolidation platform
Provide Strategic Ledger prototype oversight, assist with the development of the Chart of Account values, and help support cross validation rules and data conversion for Oracle implementation
Understand the existing ledger and financial reporting platforms to identify key use ledger standards for integration into the Strategic Ledger & Consolidation platform and advise on the roadmap to decommission legacy capabilities and systems.
Identify ledger standard gaps in Citi’s existing global ledger platforms and formulate a strategic direction and plan for the new Strategic Ledger to eliminate those gaps
Develop a governance model for ledger standards that provides oversight, tracking and metrics
Prepare and present FB&R ledger standards updates to senior management forums.
Partner closely with the Close and Accounting workstreams to ensure alignment with ledger standards to the close processes and accounting engines / sub-ledgers
Partner closely with Corporate Reporting, Controllers, Technology, Accounting Policy, Treasury, Product Control and FRSS
Manage workstream level metrics and business cases including risk reduction and efficiency measures.
This is a high-profile role within Citi’s Finance transformation, with a global scope, ideal candidates would have an in-depth knowledge of Citi’s existing ledger platforms and ledger data standards.
Experience should be gained through extensive experience in a senior Controller, Finance Transformation including Ledger Implementation or Technology role at Citi or a similar institution.
The role holder will be expected to provide both strategic and operational thought leadership over the FB&R transformation with the ability to lead and influence a wide number of stakeholders, virtual and matrix teams at SVP (Senior Vice President) level.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, team oriented, and a proactive problem solver. They will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to synthesize and communicate complex information in a clear, concise manner to various levels of stakeholders including both end users and senior / executive leadership.
They must feel comfortable navigating complex and ever-changing environments with the ability to educate and persuade senior stakeholders.
They will possess the ability to drive change throughout a large, global organization.
Qualifications & skills :
10+ years of relevant work experience with global corporations and financial services experience gained in Banking or in an associated consulting role
Proven track record of significant Finance organizational transformations
Significant experience with business analysis and process re-engineering / improvement
Significant experience in design and implementation of finance solutions using commercial Cloud technologies
Experience in building and managing diverse, inclusive, and high-performing teams
Understanding of accounting concepts related to US GAAP and IFRS standards
Understanding of General Ledger and Chart of Accounts design concepts
Strong understanding of Citi’s Data Standards
High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for reporting and PowerPoint for presentation development
Preferred :
Experience with SaaS enabled ERP transformations (Oracle, SAP, Workday)
Leadership Experience as a Process or Product Owner within a Chief Accounting Officer, Controllership and Finance Shared Services Organization is preferred.
Project Management certifications e.g., PMP (Project Management Professional), Agile Certifications or equivalent is a strong plus.
Education :
Bachelors’ degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Management, or related field is required; CPA or equivalent will be a differentiator
