Position Description :
There is an immediate opening for a full-time elementary teacher position (grades K-5) at St. Christopher School in the Diocese of San Jose.
Candidates must be dedicated to providing a challenging 21st-century education that helps students learn on a path and pace that is best for each.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree, and have completed courses needed to meet credential requirements. They should also have student teaching classroom experience.
Candidates should be able to work comfortably within the mission of St. Christopher School which states that we are dedicated to developing faith-filled leaders who serve God, consider their actions and step up.
Requirements / Expectations :
Plan, implement, monitor, and assess a comprehensive academic program consistent with Diocesan and local site goals, philosophies and specific objectives based on the assessment of student needs.
Willingly and enthusiastically work with students of all abilities, and be willing to make the accommodations necessary to help them be successful.
Have knowledge and proficiency in integrating technology (through both the use of hardware and educational apps) to enhance instruction and motivate students.
Demonstrate strong classroom management skills.
Consistently demonstrate a positive, caring disposition with students, families, and staff in support of the school community and mission.
Participate in curricular and extra-curricular school programs, professional development activities, student supervision, and meetings.
Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
Carry out all assigned faculty / staff duties in a professional manner.
Salary will be set by Diocese of San Jose teacher salary scale.
