Smith & Nephew employs more than 17,000 people in 100 countries, is listed on both the London and New York Stock Exchanges and has a tradition of 160 years of restoring people’s bodies through quality medical products.
The FP&A Centre of Excellence (COE) exists to deliver quality insights and performance management that help Smith & Nephew deliver the Life Unlimited purpose to our stakeholders.
The Centre of Excellence was created in 2020 to be a world class, integrated FP&A organization. We act as one awesome, collaborative team that is proud to partner the business and to run efficient processes with effective tools.
We support multiple functions and businesses and offer a range of career paths through the team and wider organization.
Within the COE, the Finance Analyst for the US Franchises is part of the US Franchise FP&A team and is responsible for analysis, finance support and systems expertise to the franchise leads within the team.
Day to day you will be supporting the monthly cadence of finance activities (reporting, month close accruals, forecasts etc) and Adhoc data, information and analysis requests.
You will be someone that has a strong understanding of systems and keen eye for automation opportunities that you can apply to streamline the reporting and data requests that you will be working on.
Outside of the direct team, the role needs to work closely across Controllers & GBS. This is a new role supporting the first FP&A migrations we have into the Americas and as such will require a creative and patient individual who can support the transition by taking ownership and stepping in where needed.
Candidates with a strong technical orientation, advanced Excel and PowerBI skills will be advantaged, and prior experience in TM1 / Cognos and SAP are preferred.
Demonstrated delivering of continuous improvement initiatives and CI certifications are also desirable.
Within the team there is potential to grow with a clear career funnel of upward development opportunities available for future.
You will also be part of a global Centre of Excellence with team members who can support your onboarding, from around the world.
In this team you need to role model genuine collaboration, enterprise first thinking and demonstrate a learning mindset.
This needs to be how you want to work every day.
