The Opportunity

The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for the overall coordination, tracking, monitoring, and reporting of portfolio activities while ensuring consistency with Adobe's strategy, commitments, and business objectives.

They must be adept at interacting with senior leaders, driving alignment and consistency to standards across project resources, department leads, balancing costs, risks, and benefits.

This position will be accountable for ensuring governance and monitoring of IDS (Information and Data Services) overall Portfolio status, reporting on its health and driving standardization in the context of the SLC framework, ensure teams are leading within the agreed scope, plan and budget.

In this role, you will communicate to the IDS leaders and will raise issues and risks as appropriate to drive resolution, provide thought leadership on standard methodologies, templates and processes aspiring for continuous improvement and standardization in portfolio, program management, and operational excellence.

You will also assist the head of business planning and IDS operations in handling the portfolio budget spend tracking and monitoring, Vendor management aspects, providing executive quarterly readouts, as well as driving annual operations planning.

  • What you'll Do

  • Provide effective monitoring and controlling during the lifecycle of portfolio activities and initiatives. Where appropriate, initiate and control escalation within the relevant organization to resolve issues or mitigate risk.
  • Develop communication strategy and plan for timely updates on portfolio health. Communicate portfolio progress to IDS Leadership and other multi-functional portfolio managers through regular meetings and timely status updates.
  • Achieve project and business outcomes for budget, quality metrics, and customer satisfaction monitoring, correcting, forecasting the estimate to completion and reporting on portfolio progress.
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate program managers and project team members and contractors; influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Proactively handle changes in portfolio scope, identify potential risks, and devise risk-mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Act as a trusted partner, advisor, and portfolio SME
  • Partner and interlock with the broader ATS Portfolio manager on a regular basis
  • Maintain the IDS Portfolio budget details and assist in driving AOP (Annual Operations Planning)
  • What you need to succeed

  • 10 years+ of experience as a Program Manager / Portfolio Manager responsible for implementing or handling portfolios in highly matrixed initiatives at a global setting
  • Experience using various portfolio and program management methodologies (e.g. agile / scrum, waterfall, lean) with the ability to tailor approach for initiatives’ success
  • Keen with numbers
  • Expertise in JIRA needed. Workfront exposure desirable
  • Expertise in using Microsoft productivity tools - Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in successfully working across global project teams
  • PMP Certified desirable
  • Self-motivated with strong leadership and presence; ability to build credibility and trust with both peers and senior management.
  • Excellent presentation oral and written communication skills.
  • High EQ, self-aware, a change agent.
  • Strong conflict-resolution skills; Ability to lead by influence and impact business decisions / processes through effective networking.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks / priorities, consistently meeting commitments
  • Adept at problem solving and driving the team towards solutions
