General Summary :

This position is responsible for installation, support, and maintenance of global unified communications systems and is primary technical support for those systems.

Monitors cost effectiveness and recommends upgrading of appropriate systems. This position is critical to Internal Operations and consists of working on Cisco Unified Communications infrastructure, Router Gateways, and Campus switches.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Administer Voice Communication Systems
  • oAnalyze basics in performance of various communications related service calls.

    oAnalyze entire communications system to determine hardware / cable related problems.

    oPerform end user equipment and connectivity installs, relocations, and moves to include voice mail and communications hardware.

    oIdentify and replace malfunctioning or inoperative equipment.

    oMonitor system performance and resource utilization. Provide resource outlook to the manager.

  • Administer Video Teleconference Systems
  • oAnalyze basics in performance of ISDN and Internet video conferences.

    oAnalyze video conferencing system to determine hardware / connectivity related problems.

    oIdentify and replace malfunctioning or inoperative equipment.

    oMonitor system performance and resource utilization. Provide resource outlook to the manager.

    oInstall patches, maintenance releases, and perform system upgrades.

    Job Requirements :

  • Minimum 5-8 years of Cisco Unified Communications (v9.x or later) hands on experience, e.g., with Call Manager, IM&P Server, Jabber, WebEx v2.
  • 5, VCS / Expressways, Telepresence, and Unity Connection implementation and support.

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience troubleshooting a globally distributed UC and VoIP environment.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of PSTN experience.
  • Certification Cisco CCVP or equivalent work experience. CCIE Voice preferred.
  • Courses completed for UCCE or equivalent work experience with UCCE, Enterprise preferred, but Express acceptable.
  • Strong knowledge of H323, SCCP, MGCP,SIP, TFTP, DHCP, TCP / IP, HSRP, ISDN Q931, HDLC, EIGRP protocols
  • Strong knowledge of VLANs and QoS
  • Strong knowledge of TDM T1, DS3, FXO, FXS, DSUs, PRI
  • Strong knowledge of routers, switches and gateways (29xx, 38xx, 39xx, 3850, 3750, 4xxx, VGxxx)
  • Working knowledge of Windows 2008 and 2012 servers and Active Directory.
  • Working knowledge of Firewalls and ACLs.
  • Excellent planning and follow-up skills
  • Excellent written & verbal communications skills
