The upcoming Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo in Jalisco, Mexico rests on 3,000 acres of a protected natural reserve on the Pacific Coast of Mexico.

Most of its 155 rooms will boast exceptional panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, enveloped by the surrounding jungle and lush golf course.

The Assistant Reservations Manager will demonstrate the following key characteristics :

  • Master Your Craft :

  • The Assistant Reservations Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Reservations Department and CORE activities of the Resort to achieve budgeted goals;
  • understanding and applying the principles of occupancy and rate to achieve maximum yield.

    Key Elements of the Job

  • Maintain reservation standards for rooms, dining, spa, and other designated revenue sources
  • Maintain standards for all Reservations & Communications and general calls
  • Assist the Reservations & PBX agents so they can perform their tasks efficiently
  • Work quickly in a high-pressure environment and ability to handle stress
  • Display a high level of integrity and professionalism in dealing with guests and employees
  • Operate and manage the third-party reservations systems
  • Work with the Sales Department in handling group bookings, tracing cut off dates, following up on special instructions, etc.
  • Double check individual reservations and teams’ tasks and work together with the teams if not completed correctly
  • Monitor no show collection with Front Office and Accounting departments
  • Monitor commission payment with the Accounting departments
  • Keep the teams updated with new rates, packages, promotions, processes and procedures, etc.
  • Support functions of OTB reporting, building and upkeep of rate codes, reporting on reservations conversion and abandonment
  • Maintain phone system including training and troubleshooting and resolving system issues
  • Update Reservations & PBX manuals with new information
  • Responsible of departmental training, either personally or assisting other designated departmental trainers within the teams
  • Provide agents with on-going feedback
  • Support department productivity with regards to labor management
  • Resolve guest and employee issues keeping senior management well informed of any problems and action taken
  • Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers
  • Carry on Reservation Manager duties on his / her absence
  • Other task requested by the managers
  • Desired Skills and Experience :

  • 1-2 years CORE / Reservations experience with increasing leadership responsibilities
  • Demonstrate adaptability to live in a remote location.
  • Excellent English and Spanish (Preferred) language.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Requires knowledge of and ability to operate computer equipment and required systems
  • Ability to remain calm during challenging situations
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to handle difficult situations and guests
  • Ability to multi-task in a high volume and demanding environment
  • Creates motivating work environment.
  • Strong phone skills needed
