Position summary :
Provides human resources services as HR Generalist, a new role to support the HR Manager for the Service Center in Costa Rica.
Establishes standards and procedures for handling employee questions, transactions, and data-driven administration of human resource programs.
Participation as a member and leader of diverse projects, maintenance of high quality data accuracy and analysis to inform decision-making, improve our processes and collaborate with internal and global partners to implement locally our workplace practices as a best place to work.
Essential duties & responsibilities :
Administrative HR and Systems
Maintenance, update, storage and control of HR documentation, regularly audits employee files to comply with internal controls and legal requirements
Partnership with MyHR to share monthly materials with Managers, such as reporting, FAQs, tracking of key talent processes, among others.
Internal Workday audits on a regular basis, and responsible to make the adjustments as needed.
Support with salary letters, employment certifications and any other administrative request from employees.
Compensation and Benefits
Partners with the HR Managers to build accurate payroll reports, ensuring all incidences are properly accounted for in each cyle, within formal deadlines, approvals, and with excellence in data accuracy.
Manages the termination payment process to ensure accuracy in calculations, timely payout to employees, and proactively raising of potential issues before they create liabilities for the company.
Supports direct partnership with compensation to have JDs reviewed or other related compensation and benefits reviews as needed.
Support with implementation of new benefits, as well as administrative management and maintenance of existing ones.
Ensure service level agreements are in place for benefits, prepares reporting needed, collects feedback, and make suggestions for changes.
Talent Management Training and Development
Partnering with local HR Managers and Talent Management leader for the deployment of local communications and logistics for local courses / training.
Responsible for updating and supporting the preparation of annual training plans for the site, in partnership with other areas.
Ensure training metrics are updated and provide reports on a regular basis, to ensure target coverage of eligible employee base.
Engagement, Recognition, Communications
Responsible for Gallup administration including registering employees for StrengthsFinder, creating Team Blends, pulling StrengthFinder results, and coordinating with team coaching sessions or other related to Gallup available resources for Coaching and Strengths.
Responsible for coordinating and implementation of HR local events / initiatives such as Annual and Quarterly Town Hall meetings, as well as partnering with corresponding ERGs to drive initiatives around special events calendar (birthdays, women day, fathers and mothers days, Independence Day, Year End celebration, among others), as well as any other local events.
Responsible for the Recognition program team coordination and deployment for the site initiatives, in collaboration with the Recognition Committee.
Development of organizational communications aligned with Stryker Branding, partnership with Communication, and Branding leaders across Stryker.
Guarantee the communication updates on the boards and intranet.
Responsible to keep updated Org Charts and business presentations as needed.
Responsible to provide any needed guidance regarding our internal Handbook for employees to reference.
Communicate Internal announcements for new employees and people moves.
Responsible to work with the leader of the annual engagement survey representative and coordinate local actions for the implementation of the survey.
Responsible to prepare the documentation needed for external recognition programs as assigned, ex : GPTW, Employers for Youth.
Recruiting and Onboarding
Responsible for the successful completion of all pre-boarding stages for new hires, from the moment of their acceptance of the offer.
Responsible for creation of all requirements for the new employee files, and follow up to ensure their system and payroll set up is ready on time in full, prior to their first day.
Manage the administration of new hire information through MyHR.
Support ad hoc in diverse stages of Recruiting process when needed, like scheduling interviews or administrative, communications, and logistics support for recruiting events.
Responsible to schedule all sessions for onboarding, follow up with managers for agendas, and administrative required tasks for this process including documentation
Responsible of communications and logistics for new hires to ensure a successful onboarding experience.
Employee Relations & Absence Management
Suport in proper documentation and provide basic guidance to leaders on managing disciplinary actions, employment contract conditions, criteria for benefits and leaves management.
Responsible for accurate tracking and reporting of absence and leaves incidences in the system, as well as their consideration in payroll.
Leads and serves as the project lead for the coordination of work to support organizational change projects, in partnership with HR Operations and the HR Business Partner team.
This includes support of organizational design work, agency transitions, etc.
Proposes improvements to existing processes and aims for excellence in execution and service to all stakeholders.
Education & special training :
Degree in HR, Psychology, Business, Industrial Engineering or related field.
Demonstrated high level of proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Required experience with ERP of HR systems. Workday knowledge is a plus. Experience in a corporate setting a plus.
Fluent spoken and written English are a must. Any other language is a plus.
Qualifications & experience :
2 years of relevant working experience in an HR Generalist type of role, within an HR function in a matrixed international company (preferably with US-based headquarters or a Multinational company).
Local Payroll and Costa Rican employment law knowledge and experience required.
Event logistics and management experience is a plus.
Good knowledge in Internal Communication
Strong analytical skills, orientation towards creative problem resolution and ownership of achieving excellence in deliverables.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization and across multiple functions
Ability to produce high quality work while prioritizing multiple simultaneous deliverables and working in a fast-paced, demanding environment
Project management experience preferred
