Job Summary : Regional Project Manager is responsible for all new regional business implementations, medium to high complexity local country implementations, existing business consolidations, regional cross-border special projects, GDS conversions, technology product implementations, large office moves, account de-implementations and other non-defined special projects.
Responsible for the utilization of established and proven project management methodology, tools and processes (PMP, OPPM, Prince2, Six Sigma) to scope, plan, analyze, initiate, execute, monitor and control projects.
Regional / Technology Project Manager is responsible as the primary role in delivering projects with low and medium to high complexity, risk and visibility.
Responsible for regional project coordination, local implementation coordination and as a local or regional resource as part of a Regional or Global project.
Projects will include coordination of multiple countries at the same time. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Key Targets Financial : *Deliver projects in budget and managing actively managing cost during the execution of the project.
When required, work closely with Finance to help track the budget throughout the lifecycle of the project. *Successful project management which may or may not be tied to a contractual penalty (i.
e. an implementation bond). *Meet departmental budget requirements Key Targets Non-Financial : *Deliver projects within allocated time and resource targets and satifying the defined scope and quality.
Ensure performance measurements comply with departmental / project Service Level Agreement (SLA) Provide project leadership support throughout all phases of the projects assigned Operational Functions : *Plan projects according to defined scope *Request and confirm all necessary resources are assigned per the project scope.
Leverage regional and local resources and resources from the different departments and functions to support projects. *Establish the way of working for the project team *Facilitate effective and constant communication with all project participants (internal / external).
Keep the project sponsor(s) and stakeholders informed about status of the project *Manage Project risks *Facilitate and drive decision making and escalation concerning the projects assigned *Utilize Tempo (or current project management software tool) for plan management and departmental reporting.
Lead regular conference calls and maintain project plan updates. *Distribute meeting notes within departmental guidelines Consulting : *Ability to validate that suggested process solutions will meet the client's expectations.
Stand-in Account or Operations Manager in the case of a new business implementation where one is not available or hired.
Management pre-approval required) *Present at client meetings, representing the GPMO dept. *Manage 3rd party relationships as applicable for the project Education / Knowledge / Experience *Excellent organization skills.
Project management software (Tempo or other). *Personnel management experience. *Professional, concise and mature written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to facilitate and resolve show-stoppers. *Basic to intermediate conflict resolutions skills. *Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Minimum 3 years in the company or in the travel industry. *Minimum 3 years in a qualified project management role. (May include project management position / responsibilities with other depts.
in the company) *Consistent performance evaluation of overall 3.0 3.2 or higher. *Ability to travel 30-50%, including weekends.
Must manage 25-50% or higher ratio of complex projects Preferred *General to strong working knowledge of BCD Travel's multi-national structure and capabilities.
Strong technical skills in Abacus, Amadeus, Apollo, Galileo, Sabre, Worldspan or another local GDS. Six Sigma Yellow or Green belt, PMP or other project management certification preferred
