The DCXA (Digital Customer Experience & Applications) team at Cloudera is responsible for delivering a unified world class user experience for our customers and partners when interacting with our various web portals.
Our QA sub-team is responsible for the creation,execution and maintenance of manual and automated test plans against in-house and third-party applications.
In the Lead QA Engineer role you will be responsible for managing an outsourced QA team while interacting internally with a geographically dispersed team of engineers, product managers, project managers, and internal customers to ensure the highest quality is achieved in our software deliveries.
Work closely with product owners and engineers and the broader QA team to ensure an accurate understand requirements for software in development and in production
Manage the creation of detailed, reusable manual and automated test plans and test cases within our Test Case Management System (qTest).
Identify defects in new and existing software; thoroughly document defects to maximize ease of resolution
Proactively raise critical defects ensuring blockers are escalated appropriately
Participate in bug triage meetings and help manage bug queues for multiple projects.
Perform ad-hoc testing of software releases
Regularly engage in remote collaboration and communication
Minimum five years of proven experience working in a fast-paced software engineering organization
Solid knowledge of at least one programming language (Java or Python are ideal)
Understanding of the software development life cycle
Minimum two years experience developing and managing automated testing
Excellent communication skills
Attention to detail
Positive attitude, proactive approach to work
Ability to break large assignments into actionable parts with limited direction
Fluent or near fluent in English
BS / MS in computer science or equivalent work experience
Experience as a QA engineer for software products
Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum) as applied during software development
Experience with application & infrastructure performance, security, and / or stress testing
