Job Summary :
Complete Product ownership from beginning to end
Responsible to ensure new products meet required yield and quality targets through pro-active involvement in the product development with the R&D teams.
Early involvement with process / manufacturing teams in the product review prior to tapeout. Drives rapid yield and quality improvement learning cycle upon receipt of silicon.
Provides engineering inputs to Marketing and Product Definers to support business case development including industrial strategy.
Specifies the required zero defect test and screening methodologies to be applied to a new product.
Owns product characterization efforts and all data analysis including determining limits on Automatic Test Equipment (ATE-Advantest 93k, Teradyne Ultraflex) prior to releasing products into manufacturing.
Works together with test and design leads to ensure product compliance. Follows up to ensure production test coverage is consistent with the documented compliance.
Ensures correlation between the ATE test results and the Design Bench Validation results.
Works together with test and quality leads to ensure successful qualification.
Capable to drive failure analysis and diagnosis of qualification issues, yield issues and customer returns.
Provides engineering disposition based on bin limits, fab parametric PCM correlation and other relevant data to ensure the highest quality at the lowest cost.
Drives and manages Volume Ramp Up (VRU) aspects of New Product Introductions (NPI), working together with the manufacturing teams to ensure a successful ramp.
Drives and prepares training to ensure sustaining engineers can handle daily production execution whilst retaining required quality / cost.
Works with and oversee's sustaining engineers to accelerate product yield, quality and cost learning cycles.
Supports qualification of new technology and processes to support NXP technology and industrial roadmap implementation, to ensure timely technology and industrial capability.
Key Challenges :
Participate in NPI & process improvement activities with Program Management, Design, Test, Application, Packaging, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering team members
Work with diverse teams worldwide in multiple functional roles to plan out projects, debug new silicon, and support production ramps and production problems.
Participate in defining and implementing characterization and test methodologies
Drive to entitlement test times and yield at production launch
Cross functional aspects :
Must have good communication skills and be able to work well with team members from other technical disciplines (Design, Marketing, Test, Quality, Manufacturing) and cultures.
Job Qualifications :
Experience with ATE specifically Advantest 93k and Teradyne Ultraflex, fab or design required.
Self-Driven individual with excellent communication skills.
Experience with data analysis software in support of Characterization Reports and Yield Reporting with tools such as Extensio, JMP and Optimal+ or equivalent required.
Experienced with different methods of statistical analysis.
Experience with HTOL, BHAST boards is desirable.
Experience with common Standard Logic CMOS Process Technologies and analog / RF process technologies and correlation to product performance, quality, and yield.
Bachelor’s degree or higher and at least 5 years or more of experience.
