  • Finance is critical to the success of Amazon’s rapid global expansion of its business. Principal Program Manager will be responsible for managing complex projects for Finance Operations;
  • and will be responsible for timely and optimal delivery of projects (including expansion restructuring, compliance and / or strategic projects).

    Principal Program Manager will also be responsible for working with other PMO leaders and drive improvements including improving existing playbooks, identifying and executing on opportunities to reduce the time to launch Finance Capabilities to support new business or new geography launch.

    Principal Program Manager is innovative, results-driven professional with solid people skills, deep expertise and extensive experience in managing large complex projects.

    This position will work across businesses, geographies and vertical to drive design and deployment of Finance capabilities to support the launch of new business or new geography.

    This is a senior leadership role and incumbent is expected to effectively navigate and work in a matrix organization, influence people, negotiate timelines with stakeholders (as needed), and deliver results around the globe.

    Ability to think big and execute at a tactical level is critical to be successful in this role.     Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Deliver projects on time with the highest customer experience, quality and controllership
  • Gain expertise in Finance Operations (AP, AR Payroll) processes and associated technology as it relates to expansion projects
  • Mentor other project managers, program managers and portfolio managers by providing insights on upstream as well as system dependencies, risks, issues, mitigation strategies, dos and don’ts
  • Establish relationship with business leaders and other expansion teams
  • Elevate culture of Innovation and Continuous Improvement through best practice sharing, vocal, advocacy and visible hand-on leadership.
  • Develop and provide right metrics to measure project success, providing meaningful feedback to project manager, process, business and technology owners
  • Represent FinOps PMO in internal and external meetings
  • 15+ year of experience in project management
  • Extensive experience managing multiple complex projects in parallel
  • Track record of delivering complex cross functional projects on time and within budget with the highest level of quality and controllership
  • Track record of driving and delivering improvements to project management office such as identifying opportunities (including pre-fabrication of requirements, technology, knowledge sharing) to reduce time to launch and improve quality
  • Proficient in project management tools and templates
  • Deep process and technology knowledge
  • Ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements and prioritize tasks
  • Skilled at driving consensus with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Articulate and able to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization, from front-line associates to executives through white papers as well as verbal communication
  • Demonstrated Change Management experience including the ability to work with improvement team sponsors to address barriers to a team’s success
  • Degree in Finance, Engineering or Accounting
  • Experience with and understanding or delivering projects following SDLC or agile methodologies
  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus
  • Experience in both industry and consulting is a plus for this role
  • Project / Program Management Certification : PMP, or equivalent
