What does a Great Software C / C++ Development Engineer do?

You will design, develop, maintain, and support C / C++ based applications for designated products. Work with cross-functional teams, other software engineers, and clients in ensuring positive client experience with the Fiserv products.

You are developing and maintaining applications implemented across Windows, AIX, UNIX or Linux platforms. Keeping applications up to date with compliance regulations is mandatory for Fiserv.

You will engage with clients and other business associates to design, develop, and delivery on customer funded development opportunities.

Quality of code and thoroughness in delivery is consistently monitored and recognized across the team.

Basic Qualifications for consideration :

3-5 years of advanced C / C++ programming experience developing client and enterprise applications on Windows.

Intermediate JAVA Skill Set

Must have ability to work independent or as part of team.

Must have ability to work within team or independently on assigned tasks toward overall solution

Help other team members with any questions, provide guidance, peer code reviews etc.

Experience in design, develop and maintain C / C++ based applications.

Experience in multi-threading, sockets, multi-tiered clients / server solutions, GUI and communications. Web Services and relational database implementations.

Must have good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

Detail-oriented with ability to learn and apply new technical concepts quickly.

Ability to write technical documents, support requirements decomposition, coordinate working POCs and evolve to deployable code, ability to present designs to peers and Product Owner for approval

Deep understanding of all lifecycle components (code, test, deploy)

Preferred Qualifications for Consideration :

Java / J2EE

Constructing IBM DB2 or Microsoft SQL server queries

Building desktop client applications with C++ and MFC

C# (.NET)

IBM AIX XL Compiler skill set or UNIX / Linux equivalent

Experience with WinSCP and Putty skills to interact remotely with the AIX environments

Experience with Shell Script Skill Set in AIX, UNIX, or Linux environment

Experience with banking or financial domain

Knowledge of ANSI X9.100-187 specifications
