Job Purpose : The CAA professional is responsible for supporting financial reporting of various Institutional Client Group (ICG) and Global Consumer Banking (GCB) Legal Entities and Segments within Citi, supports Controllers in fulfilling responsibilities related to financial accountability, entity governance, policies and procedures.

Also, is responsible to facilitate the interaction with other key areas such as Close, Corporate Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, and Product Control.

This is an intermediate role that includes, but it is not limited to, leading teams inside the organization the preparation and presentation of financial statements utilizing Inquiry Framework (reporting platform).

Daily and monthly variance analysis, and documenting financial highlights. Coordination of external reporting to various agencies may be required, as well as interaction with internal and external audit.

  • The role also includes Daily Analytical Review, including reasonability checks and variance composition for balances above established thresholds;
  • Preparation and posting of report level adjustments (RLA); Notification of report issues; Monthly reasonability assessment of the Daily Balance Sheet results per established KPI and monthly rule based adjustments (RBA) reasonability review. Key Responsibilities :

  • Monthly reasonability assessment of the Daily Balance Sheet results per established KPI, Monthly rule based adjustments (RBA) reasonability review.

  • Provides detailed variance explanations with clear link to business drivers.
  • Reviews and analyzes variances and proposes required adjustments for completeness and accuracy.
  • Interprets, guides and challenge others in the application of accounting principles.
  • Identifies and explains errors and gaps in the process.
  • Proposes remediation steps for issues within non-complex processes.
  • Identifies areas of improvements within sub-processes.
  • Participates in global projects related to specific processes and change management initiatives
  • Identifies, resolves and drives sustainable resolution of complex issues.
  • Evaluate drivers that impact business and Citi’s Accounting Policies, Procedures and Standards.
  • Identifies and explains errors and gaps in the process.
  • Proposes remediation steps for issues involving non-complex processes.
  • Identifies areas of improvements within sub-processes; engages in periodic process reviews and drives process improvements identified.
  • Leverages business knowledge and experience in ensuring the accuracy of results.
  • Identifies opportunities to further facilitate efficiency, as well as, improve overall quality of analysis to support business reviews.
  • Understands the interdependencies between the Legal Entities and Management structures and identifies transactions that are necessary to ensure compliance with appropriate policies.
  • Knowledge / Experience :

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance OR related business experience
  • CPA preferred
  • 4-6 years of Accounting / Finance experience required
  • Advance skill in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Full Suite experience preferred
  • Advance English proficiency and any other language is a plus
