Business Summary :

This position is based in Costa Rica, Central America, reporting to the Director, Finance Systems and Solutions, in Palo Alto, CA

The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of technical, business and people skills to play a key role as subject matter expert and technical consultant throughout the project life cycle of their assigned applications.

The Analyst will be heavily involved in planning and implementation of various systems.

Job Role and Responsibility :

This role requires the candidate to be able to work through a Systems development life cycle (SDLC) as a business analyst on a daily basis.

The ideal candidate should be able to gather and document requirements for building enhancements or new functionality pertaining to employee Travel and Expenses in SAP Concur, work on the configurations, build and coordinate testing with the business teams and deploy the solution in a timely manner.

Candidate will be working with a cross functional team in different Geo’s (CR / US / India) to deliver solutions and needs to have great communication skills and be flexible working in different time zones some of the time.

This candidate would also be responsible for building and supporting Cognos reports to help the business with Expense analytics.

  • Participate in and / or lead requirements gathering sessions for new system requirements or enhancements to existing systems for Finance applications like Concur and Concur Detect(Travel and Expense SAAS solution), and HelpNow (IT ticketing and tracking systems) and other finance projects;
  • drive stakeholder groups through system design decision making process.

  • Develop high quality documentation throughout the duration of projects, including capturing design decisions, system configuration, processes / workflow, data extracts and interface requirements, etc.
  • Develop and support end to end testing strategies, partner with IT on all SDLC processes, coordinate testing efforts with the business users (during UAT), monitoring test execution, and providing metrics for testing to upper management.
  • Design and document any training material or user guides for systems implementation projects.
  • Participate in data extraction / conversion exercises with the business stakeholders for projects involving a change in the current application / vendor.
  • Recommend internal processes and audit procedures to ensure Finance SOX controls compliance and data integrity of systems post go-live.
  • Provide backup support on current Finance systems and cross train with team members in the BTA Finance team. Be able to troubleshoot issues with the business and partner with other cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with IT to apply fixes, patches to the system; also create any enhancement requests, have them prioritized by the business and with IT and see these through the IT process into completion.

  • Attend and participate in team / staff / project meetings as scheduled and assigned.
  • Required Skills :

  • 3 -5 years of experience implementing and supporting large ERP systems, like SAP or Oracle
  • 3 - 5 years of experience required in the areas of Finance like compensation, Travel and Expense, or Procurement
  • Knowledge / experience with some of the following SAP Financials, Advanced Excel, Microsoft Visio, and Power Point.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills a must able to think through issues, and provide workable solutions, which are thought out end to end.
  • Excellent organizational skills to be able to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • B.S. degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, or related area. Accounting background is a plus.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Experience with SaaS tools like Concur or Coupa is a significant preferable skill.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or or other ticketing applications considered a huge plus.
  • Working knowledge of SAP financials is an additional preferable skillset.
