You will work alongside a motivated and qualified local team who will develop your research and practical skills and you will also have the opportunity to develop your Spanish skills during a 2 week homestay and study placement.

Collecting data is a time consuming activity and the outputs from this project are forwarded to the Costa Rican government to help make conservation policy.
While participating on this internship you will build your CV / Resume not only through the acquisition of conservation skills such as camera trapping, species identification and turtle tagging, you will also gain wider skills in first aid, GPS training as well as building your team working and leadership skills.
You may even be given the opportunity to work alongside project staff on successful completion of your internship.
Interns should be recent graduates, gap year students, or career breakers looking to develop specific career skills in conservation research.
You should willing and able to work as part of a team and able to adapt to the challenges that present themselves. Interns will need a good work ethic as this is a demanding placement.
At least level A2 of CEFR Spanish is required.
You will be evaluated weekly and will be provided with certification on completion of the courses. You will also be given a confidential personal reference for future employers.
Please bring a laptop with you to document your learning during your internship.
Project fees apply. Project fees include accommodation, airport pick up, food, orientation and 24h support. You will be provided with a comprehensive learning reflection document and are expected to give a presentation at the end of your internship.
