Responsible for analyzing, completing, and following up on activities related to the project accounting.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to revenue recognition analysis and approval, preparing manual journal entries, balance sheet accounts review, performing account reconciliations, tracking reconciling items, collaborating with other areas (GL / AR / AP / Operations) to define and execute action plans.
This role is responsible for following Standard Accounting Policies & Procedures according to USGAAP and ensuring that Shared Services customers are responded to in an accurate manner.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform and collaborate in the accounting closing process carrying out specific tasks on a timely manner.
Prepare and post Manual Journal Entries as requested.
Prepare monthly and quarterly accruals.
Execute the monthly NPO (Net Project Operation) reporting for the countries in scope (Latin America).
Reconcile Project Accounting balance sheet accounts per reconciliation schedule.
Follow up on reconciling items, collaborates with other teams and execute action plans to close the differences between the Projects subledger and the accounting.
Ensure targets and expected deliverables are met according to the SLA guidelines .
Identify potential areas for process improvements and highlight to Supervisors and Continuous Improvement Team towards process standardization and optimization.
Support internal and external audit processes collaborating with the supervision of the area to meet deliverables and address explanations
Participate in the reporting process of financial statements in a monthly basis.
Develop analysis and information as requested by the Business Units.
EDUCATION / LANGUAGE
Associates or BSBA degree in Accounting, Finance and / or Business Administration.
Good communication both verbal and written in English (B2)
Intermediate level of Portuguese is a plus.
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS
2 to 3 years of experience in general accounting / revenue accounting or Big 4 environment (audit, consulting, accounting, etc.)
Shared Services environments experience is preferred.
Knowledge, insight, and experience in (financial) administrative (accounting) processes.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required.
Oracle / SAP or other ERP experience is preferred. Hyperion or other reporting system is also preferred.
