About the role :
Provide technical mechanical support for new and existing products. Mitigate technical and budgetary risks. Conduct and supervise a broad range of experiments from discovery to formal verification / validation testing.
Utilize expert experimental methods and statistical techniques.
Your responsibilities include :
Successfully completes complex engineering work in one or more of the following : technology development, product design and development, test of materials or products, preparation of specifications, process study, research investigation (animal and clinical studies), and report preparation.
Study and understand relevant published articles and works for application to company projects and initiatives.
Selects techniques to solve complex problems and make sound design recommendations.
Summarizes, analyzes and draws conclusions from complex test results.
Designs and prepares complex reports to communicate results to technical community.
Designs and coordinates complex engineering tests and experiments.
Coordinates, manages and documents project goals and progress and recommends appropriate revisions.
Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products or equipment.
Create and validate new test methods as required.
Provide technical and project leadership on incremental design improvements to existing products
Translates customer needs into product requirements and design specifications.
Responsible for engineering documentation.
Provide oversite to manufacturing sites to ensure design is not impacted.
Executes to End of Life component replacement projects.
Works cooperatively with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical and marketing on complex projects to ensure project success.
May train and / or provide work direction to technicians and entry-level engineers.
Consistently generates innovative and unique solutions to market needs and submits idea disclosures. Work is expected to result in the development of new or refined products, processes or equipment.
What we are looking for :
Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, Materials, Chemical Engineering preferred)
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related work experience or Master’s degree and 3+ years of related work experience.
Excellent project management skills and ability to communicate technically complex concepts / items in a simple manner are a must.
Strong bias for action and results orientation is critical.
Individual must be self-driven and self-motivated to learn and use that knowledge to produce results.
Good understanding of statistical methods, six sigma methodologies, DOE previous experience in designing assemblies or components.
Previous experience in working with suppliers is a plus.
