We are currently looking to expand our Digital Health Global Cloud Services team by adding a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Engineer.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of an expanding and highly skilled team in our Coyol, Cartago, Costa Rica office.

Position Summary :
This position will serve as a cloud engineer for the Smith and Nephew Digital Health Cloud and report directly to the Digital Health Manager.
The role will be responsible for developing new cloud capability, continuous improvement of existing capability and operational effectiveness of cloud solutions.
Lastly, there are new applications as well as SNI products being developed to leverage cloud technology and you will be assigned to assist with these efforts as they are commissioned.
Cloud Services supported will be AWS
Cloud projects :
Provide cloud engineering expertise for cloud improvements or expansion projects
Deploy new services within the cloud
Deliver cloud solutions and services as a code - cloud automation
Develop automation and operational capabilities to support non-cloud native workloads that need to be managed with a data center like model e.g. backups, patching.
Create and maintain infrastructure and application deployment pipelines
Support development teams and running proof of concept on new technologies
Implement infrastructure security best practices
Cloud operations and engineering :
Provide cloud engineering services consistent with SNI architecture models
Assist application delivery managers with application migrations from data center to cloud hosting
Develop and document SOPs for tasks assigned to the outsourced cloud operations team
Perform design review to assure efficient cloud service utilization
Provide / produce cloud performance reporting

Bachelor’s degree Computer Science or Business or a related field or directly related compensatory career experience
Master’s degree in Computer Science or Business related field is a plus but not required
5+ years in the IT specifically in the Cloud, Infrastructure, and Network discipline
3 to 4+ years direct hands on cloud experience specifically with AWS
experience of working in large scale global business environments
Systems and Technology experience
Strong knowledge of cloud provisioning and administration
Advanced knowledge of operating systems (Microsoft Windows Servers, Linux) on administrative level
Advanced knowledge of orchestrating infrastructure and configuration tools.
Understanding of CI / CD concept, experience in implementation of CI / CD pipelines
Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt experience
Python programming including OOP techniques and basic design patterns
Good knowledge of networking concepts (TCP / IP stack, DNS, routing and switching)
Good knowledge of AWS services, experience with AWS infrastructure implementation and maintenance,
Good knowledge of AWS Well Architected Framework
Certifications at least one of them or demonstrable relevant experience :
AWS SysOps Administrator
Nice to have
Experience in software lifecycle management (understanding and creating release processes and delivery management)
Ability to find solutions to uncommon problems
Knowledge of IT Service Management operating models for infrastructure (ITIL)
