To establish credit limits for all new customers and maintains limits on all active customers. Credit limit recommendations will be based on commercial credit agency ratings, credit references, financial statements, or other information obtained directly from the applicants.

Based upon established thresholds credit limits are reviewed annually. Credit evaluations will also be carried on upon event driven circumstances.

I.e. Customers on shipping hold experiencing cash flow issues, media communications informing on pending bankruptcies. The Credit Analysis Summary form needs to be used to establish and document the customer credit limit.

The position also requires release of orders failing the credit check within Oracle. Setting customers on shipping hold based on the feedback received from the Sr. collections personnel.


  • Responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of customers. Credit analyst determines the likelihood that a borrower will be able to meet financial obligations and pay back the outstanding balances due to Emerson.
  • Functions include establishing and maintaining credit limits, monitoring collection of receivables and providing financial guidance for order management support.

    The credit Analyst must review credit limits annually.

  • If the customer is on hold due to a past due balance and a payment commitment has been obtained for this balance then the analyst may release the order.
  • If the customer is on hold due to being over the credit limit and there are no past due balances, then the Credit Analyst will need to perform a credit review of the customer including obtaining updated credit and / or financial information.

    If the account has any invoice disputed of either type of holds this will need to be taken into consideration in the analyst assessment.

  • The Credit Analyst will notify to the Sales and Finance Department on a weekly basis orders placed on hold. Sales will either communicate the hold status to the customer or notify Credit that they communicate to the customer.
  • The Credit analyst needs to follow LAM C&C Policy.
  • All credit evaluations and decisions need to be duly documented and in accordance with the regional C&C policy.
  • During internal and external audits the credit analyst will help provide the requested supporting documentation.
  • Manage escalations from the commercial and operational teams
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor degree of Accounting, Business Management or Finance
  • Post graduate studies (Licenciatura and or Master’s Degree)
  • Good written and oral English communication skills
  • Portuguese skills are desired A2 or B1 is acceptable
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • 3 years’ experience in workforce, preferably in Credit department.
