HR Generalist - Employee Relations and Compliance Specialist
What We Need
We’re seeking an energetic, proactive, crazy-smart, intellectually curious, super-fun HR Generalist who will help manage the explosive growth of Kareo’s business operations in Costa Rica.
As the business grows, the role will become more focused on Employee Relations and Compliance.
Your Area of Focus
Providing HR leadership, partnership and expertise in support of our Costa Rica operations
Coaching and Mentoring : Provide leaders with guidance and support to drive an employee-orientated, high performance culture
Employee Relations : Provide guidance and expertise to leaders on how to manage risk, develop team members, and a variety of compliance related matters
Policy Management + Adherence : Reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance and recommend best practices
Onboarding + Offboarding : Provide a seamless onboarding and offboarding experience and serve as the main point of contact for employees for the entire employee lifecycle;
deliver new hire orientation (we promise it’s not your usual boring deal!)
Benefits + Occupational Health : Oversee Costa Rica benefits administration and employee education; represents the company on the OHS Committee
Your Professional Qualifications
Excellent oral and written English communication skills - CEFR C1
Minimum 5 years experience in a HR Generalist role with a large percentage of hourly team members
Proven experience managing high volume employee relations issues applying fair and consistent practices
Working knowledge of Costa Rica labor laws as they pertain to compliance, policy administration, disciplinary action, performance management, payroll, etc.
Depth of experience in conducting employee relations investigations and recommending corrective action; if you have experience doing this for the US - you will get a TON of bonus points (and probably a phone call)!
Ability to work with all levels to provide top-notch service to our employees from entry level employees to high-level professionals and managers - all for one and one for all
Outstanding interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
