Job Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Vice Provost of Undergraduate Advising & Success (AVP UAS), the Director of the Undergraduate Advising and Success Center (UASC) is responsible for leading and developing a team of staff to ensure that the UASC provides holistic advising and appropriate referrals to campus support services to support the university’s retention and equity goals.
The Director is responsible for implementing initiatives of the AVP, in conjunction with the colleges, as needed. The Director is responsible for managing and directing the operations of the UASC center, including assigning duties to advisors and managing challenging or complex student issues.
The director works with the Directors Council and AVP to develop and implement programs that support high priority populations including historically excluded students, and students who are in academic jeopardy.
A significant responsibility of the director is to implement the use of campus technology solutions, to provide analytics related to staff and Center effectiveness.
In collaboration with the AVP UAS, the Director develops and delivers training for the advising community. The Director is the link between the UASC and other campus resources and maintains strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including students, staff, faculty, and community partners.
