Sony Electronics in the San Jose, California location is seeking to welcome the best and the brightest into our world-class automotive image sensor marketing and engineering team.
We are encouraging a new member to work closely with eco system partners as well as our Sony image sensor design team in Japan to provide solutions for and trustable viewing, ADAS and autonomous driving systems as part of the Safety Cocoon concept.
Provides front-line engineering and technical marketing support for customers.
Support customers through their full product development cycle, including evaluation, design-in, bring-up, debug, FA, quality and issues resolution
Image sensor evaluation and characterization using hardware systems, customer support using same, customer training, and perform lab characterization measurements using test and evaluation equipment with related automation and image quality software tools.
Explanation and training of customers about the product specifications, design requirements, interoperability and functionality, and roadmap alignment to create design-in opportunities.
Coordination with design, support engineering and business teams at HQ in Japan for customer issue resolution, project status, product requirements and project planning.
Necessary knowledge :
Strong product and system knowledge in the Image Sensors or Sensing Devices with Embedded Platforms.
Minimum Requirements :
Hands on work with imaging and sensing related hardware and software technology.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a development or technical support engineer, preferably in the automotive imaging markets.
Understand Automotive product and system requirements for image sensors.
Knowledge of semiconductors and manufacturing, digital and / or analog design, power supplies, transmission lines and other fundamentals of electronics and semiconductors technology.
Bachelors or higher degree preferred, in electrical engineering or computer science.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels of an organization.
Fluent in English and preferably understanding of Japanese based communication.
