The Prod Ctrl Intmd. Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for ensuring the completeness, accuracy and integrity of the bank's books and records in coordination with the Finance team.
The overall objective of this role is to control and support data integrity and general ledger reconciliation, profit attribution and new activity analysis, valuation control and product P&L and balance sheet reporting.
Prepare and analyze daily profit and loss statements for the North American Commodities business.
Understand the profit and loss attributions of assigned portfolios and communicate daily results and commentary to the trading desk and senior management
Perform front to back office system reconciliations and follow up on breaks such as identifying the cause for the breaks, coordinating with trading analysts to correct booking errors and developing controls to prevent breaks from recurring
Participate in the reconciliation of the monthly trading profit and loss to the general ledger and management systems
Participate in ongoing business initiatives such as new product approvals and / or structured transaction reviews
Adhoc projects including system development and providing analytics / metrics for the business and Finance management team
Redesigning and streamlining daily and monthly processes
1-2 years’ experience in financial services industry or accounting experience preferred
Strong organization skills with an excellent attention to detail (Must possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills)
Strong PC skills with knowledge of MS Office, including strong proficiency in Excel
Derivative product knowledge or financial control experience preferred
Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals required
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required
Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, deadline oriented environment and flexibility to work hours necessary to meet deadlines
Bachelor’s degree (Accounting or Finance required)
