This position is responsible building, delivering, enhancing and supporting Products and Services in support of several key disciplines, such as : telecommunications and the cellular industry strategic goals.

The incumbent will possess a high degree of experience and skill working across all functions involved in project deliveries.

This position is responsible for supervising product support personnel. This position is responsible for maintaining a superior level of quality service and support which results in continued customer satisfaction.

The role is also responsible for capacity planning, team building and be a technical authority over the technical processes across various projects.

This role ensures the delivery effectiveness of the team and stakeholder relationship. Engineering

Review solution architecture that meets functional, performance and user experience requirements. Review software modules with the integration interface points.

Work closely with Manager and business team and other functional areas to ensure that project schedules are met with a high level of quality

Facilitate or attend internal and external technical overviews and determine technical feasibility.

Provide technical leadership to the team

Help the manager to Provide input for business case development, market analysis and operational issues.

Co-ordination with Customer support / Customer(s) in supporting the resolution of customer issues

Provide effort estimates (Level of effort, rough order of magnitude etc.)

Evaluation of new technologies; proof of concept

Root cause analysis of issues to determine which aspect (management, process or people) needs to be improved

Innovative ideas; product enhancement suggestions

People management

The associate manager will have Employee development responsibilities and will support Manager in hiring.

The associate manager will support Manager in performance review.

The associate manager will support Manager in performance appraisal.

Process

The associate manager will practices process to ensure timely high quality deliverables.

Project Management

The associate manager will mostly do the monitoring, tracking and risk management. Associate manager will help the Manager in planning

Associate manager supports in the day to day running of a specific project or sub project

Co-ordination with cross functional team to deliver quality software releases on target

Co-ordination with Product / Program / Operations Teams to support software releases

Product Support Responsibilities :

Ensure customer notification and test process is followed for all planned and unplanned releases, outages.

Establish, maintain, collaborate and partner closely with program managers, dev leads, test leads,database leads, production support and other engineering teams as appropriate.

Perform on-going analysis of data, identify efficiencies and cost saving opportunities.

Ensure participation in requirements / design reviews.

Estimate resource requirements including level of efforts, hours and resources.

Perform statistical and benchmark testing as needed.

Follow established configuration management practices.

Provide subject matter expertise on projects.

Manage and improve System Testing processes.

Attend user groups / customer meetings as needed.

Drive triages with engineering, product mgmt and report test status with progress, risks and quality metrics.

Drive test automation strategy, planning and execution for apps.

Management Responsibilities :

Approximate # of Direct and Indirect Reports above 4

Responsible for day-to-day supervisory functions for product support analysts and engineers.

Manage customer escalations.

Provide instruction, guidance and coaching of technical resources to ensure work activities are on target.

Develop resource work plans at the task level for support activities.

Evaluate employee skills, training needs, knowledge and expertise. Administer performance assessments on an annual and quarterly basis.

Ensure Human Resources policies and procedures are adhered to.

Coach, mentor, and grow a strong Test Team that has deep application expertise across the teams.

Define, drive best quality processes, practices and improve overall quality

    Associate Mgr Technology

    Specific changes for associate managers :

    8-10 years of Software Development Experience

    Exposure to capturing Requirements interfacing with the Customers / Product / Program Managers; define delivery plan; define scope and project plan

    Experience in Project Management in small projects

    Exposure on working with teams in diverse geographic locations

    Experience in building small teams successfully

    Help managers to create detailed project plans with execution of assigned project activities in accordance with project methodologies and practices

    Help Manager in end-to-end project execution and compliance by customer and standards

    Resource management

    Identify Project risks and work with managers for mitigations.

    10+ years Software Engineering / QA experience, including 3+ years experience working in a telecom domain environment preferred in a lead role

    Strong telecommunications and wireless industry knowledge

    Formal software testing methodologies

    Integration and conformance testing

    Module and Functional testing

    Document inspections & reviews

    Strong troubleshooting and error analysis skills

    Strong understanding of GSM standards and testing methods preferred

    Good knowledge of Billing / Roaming / SMS / MMS technologies preferred

    Strong knowledge of Unix / Linux and Oracle Mandatory

    Strong analytical, business logic and problem resolution skills

    12+ years of Software Development Experience, Software Engineering / QA experience, including 2+ years experience working in a telecom domain environment preferred in a lead role

    Bachelors degree in Engineering in Computer Science / Electronics or equivalent

    Experience in Java and J2EE

    Good analytical and problem solving skills Good Knowledge of SDLC

    Knowledge of RDBMS concepts

    Extensive Experience in Software design and architecture of Enterprise systems

    Experience / Knowledge of Telecom domain highly preferred

    Experience working with Cross-functional teams QA, Operations, Product and Program Managers

    Experience in capturing Requirements interfacing with the Customers / Product / Program Managers; define delivery plan; define scope and project plan

    Experience in Project Management
