Success in the Role : What are the performance outcomes you will work toward completing during your internship?

  • Become familiar with the Corporate Long Range Planning team, strategic priorities, systems, and tools
  • Be actively involved in the Company’s long-term plan, by providing key insights from data, assist on financial modeling and development of presentation materials
  • Use your analytical skills to help assess impact of company’s transition to subscription model
  • What are the requirements?

  • Student currently enrolled in college
  • Advanced English
  • Be able to commit, full time to the 12-week program, beginning in May 2022.
  • What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

    Your regular activities may be modified to suit your professional strengths and new business requirements, but you can expect a variety of the following assignments :

  • General support of long-range planning process, including financial projections, development of presentation materials and partnership with stakeholders within the Finance organization
  • Long-range external benchmark analysis
  • Analysis into customer contract renewals
  • Assessing impact of transition to subscription model for existing contract renewals and professional services division
  • What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

    You will be joining the Corporate Finance organization, which has presence in United States, Costa Rica, and India. The team vision is focused on being trusted, collaborative business partners and strategic decision makers, helping VMware becoming the leading, modern, multi-cloud SaaS company though value creation and operational excellence.

    This role reports to the Costa Rica based manager for the Long-Range Planning team. He has been in the company for 6 years, covering different areas of the finance organization, which include top line analysis, budget management and long-term planning.

    Also, before joining VMware, he spent several years in Investment Banking, specially focused in the technology sector.

    Where is this role located?

    The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager.

    You will be expected to live within a reasonable non-daily commute of the Costa Rica office in Heredia.
