As a LAM Proposal Leader, you will :
Set overall strategic direction and objectives for proposal organization. Monitor the achievement of those objectives and reports to upper management.
Monitor the proposal capacity vs staffing needs and hire new high caliber team members as required
Accountable for maintaining a solid stakeholder relationship with Sales and Engineering Centers for facilitating feedback and improvements to the proposal process
Coordinates and directs long-term group technical and organizational plans relative to proposals tools and processes
Identifies relevant best practices and oversees implementation through continuous improvement
Engage project management and engineering management as required to meet objectives of proposals through utilization of resources to support proposal efforts.
The LAM Proposal organization consists of a Regional Team based in Costa Rica and have also specific local teams in Countries / regions : Mexico, Brazil, and Southern Cone
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the preparation of proposals / quotations as support to the Sales Team
To act as Manager of the Team, observing aspects of selection, development, communication and retention of the team
Assure covering Team’s needs for training, access to information and support escalation to the inside of our organization
Develop policies and strategies to improve the performance and effectiveness of our Proposals Organization
Assure the effective compliance and use of standard tools, processes and practices always in alignment with Emerson’s guidelines
Drive and secure alignment on formats, templates and deliverables as part of the Department responsibilities
Guarantee the maintenance of price and communication policies with all the Sales channels
Actively collaborate in the development of effective winning strategies
Participate in the definitions of appropriate goals and KPI for the department
Maintain an effective Dashboard to report operational results, including team performance and effectiveness
Guarantee synergy between Sales and Operations. DOA process preparation and alignment within the appropriate stakeholders
Implement and maintain an effective Support decision tool to properly challenge our costing competitiveness
Aggressively work and engage with other WA peers in a continuous search for improvement and mutual leverage
Expect actively hands-on participation in strategic or complex proposals

Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Electronics / Electrical / Electromechanical) is a plus
5 years proposals experience developed on a regional basis
Sales experience is a plus
Strong background in Process Control industry
Operations (Project execution) experience is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English (Portuguese will be a plus)
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to communicate to management the strategy and progress with respect to targets
Must be able to listen to the customer’s desires and concerns, and then recommend solutions, possibly including customizing a product
Knowledge of State-of-the-Art solutions on the automation business
MAC / MEC quoting experience will be a plus
