TPMA is the respected leader in CCG for optimizing Turbo related power management and defining the thermally relevant workloads that enable CPU sustained performance.

In this position you will be responsible for multidisciplinary research to optimize the balance of power performance and thermals for client system designs through data collection and lab experiments.

Engineering studies will include performance risk assessments developing default setting recommendations architectural studies of existing and contemplated features defining new thermally relevant workloads assessment of generation to generation performance impacts and debugging of customer or internally observed behavior.

You will work across multiple Intel organizations including silicon power delivery architecture and other PnP teams to evaluate new PnP controls and define and conduct lab experiments.

In addition to that, this position will be hands-on and experimentally focused supporting Intel's thermal, mechanical, and acoustic technology development efforts in the Client PC space.

The primary job responsibility will be helping with the design and execution of test programs involving new or emerging platform technologies, including creating statements of work, instrumentation (e.

g., thermocouple installation), creation of fixturing (e.g., rapid prototyping adaptor plates, etc.), data acquisition, data analysis, and presentations of findings.

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Performing thermal and power projections for customer guidance
  • Investigating and proposing innovative ideas to improve thermal and power management techniques in future products
  • Performing thermal and power measurements in the laboratory for model validation and correlation
  • Publishing technical collateral and hands-on support to enable integration into customer designs
  • Providing guidance to cross-functional development teams comprised of thermal mechanical and electrical engineers
  • Other responsibilities include conducting design previews performing system acceptance and resolving design and implementation issues.

  • Qualifications

    You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates

    Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork classes and project work internships military training and / or work experience.

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Electronics Mechatronics or Thermal Engineering required or related fields of study
  • Intermediate to advanced English Level
  • Basic understanding of desktop notebook and tablet system components and how they relate to one another
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 year experience desired in one of the following fields client system design and integration platform architecture PnP methodology or platform thermal modeling
  • Experience with ITP data acquisition DAQ and other lab data collection tools
  • Experience with validation board RVP setup and debug
  • Experience evaluating benchmark and workload power and performance
  • Familiarity with processor active power and thermal management Pstates and CPU power control unit functionality Pcode is a plus
  • Ability to debug complex power management issues
  • Ability to interpret and analyze large datasets
  • Have a background in thermofluids engineering (any experience with acoustics would also be a plus but is not a hard requirement)
