POSITION SUMMARY :
The BluePrint team provides patient-specific devices to those with complex clinical cases. These are provided under the prescription of the overseeing physician in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations for single patient use.
Responsible for processing patient data for pre-operative alignment of products designed by the BluePrint department. You will be required to manage your case load under tight time constraints and support in the supervision of other team members, provide suitable drawings or CAD models for a wide variety of implant types in order to manufacture and inspect, and adhere to procedures set out by Quality and Regulatory Affairs.
The PDT may participate in process improvement projects, training for APDT and PDT, and support the engineering team activities when necessary.
Candidate must possess CAD knowledge and exhibit aptitude, strong organizational skills, and familiarity with computer systems.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY : What you will do :
Technical Responsibilities :
Preparation of surgical planning guides and reports
Coordinate, review and process CT Scan data and convert those files into 3D bone models used to develop patient specific instrumentation
Review models, and paperwork from those within the team to ensure it has been completed to the quality required
Read and work from various clinical imaging including x-rays and CT scans.
Provide adequate information via technical drawings and 3D models to manufacturing and inspection (including subcontractor activities such as coating requirements) and prepare job cards and bill of materials (BOMs) with reference drawings as required.
Where required, dimension all drawings correctly, apply geometrical tolerancing, finishing and etching details, and carry out tolerance stack calculations.
Ensure standard templates used for design are current and updated in a timely fashion.
Support problem solving, root cause analysis, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against requirements.
Track status of each case using internal software.
Review patient data processed by coworkers.
Business Responsibilities :

Provide support to the engineering team when necessary.
Understand the product’s intended use and clinical procedures.
Any other tasks that sits outside your current role from time to time to support the activities of the business.
Med Device Compliance :
Mentor others as a business unit expert on the usage of industry standards, including design requirements and test strategies per applicable regulations.
Lead others to create and refine engineering documentation, such as the Design History file and create more progressive technical content.
Contribute to R&D procedures and development of industry standards working closely with cross-functional business units.
General Responsibilities :
Review activities performed by APDT and PDT.
Learn procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology required.
Work on problems in limited scope; purposefully learn while gaining experience.

Coordination with manufacturing, operations, and scheduling to meet the needs of the PROPHECY® navigation cases schedule.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : What you will need (strongly desired) :
Technical Skills :
3+ years of experience is required (related experience within the medical device industry is strongly preferred)
Prior experience with orthopedic / mechanical products and software like Mimics, 3Matic, Magics, and Excel.
Recognize radiology basics concepts.
Preferred Skills / Engineering tools :
CAD Software proficiency.
Excellent PC skills (MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project).
Proven leadership and demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating teams.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Able to work with all levels of management.
Ability to collect and interpret, complex data and information.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
High school degree or equivalent experience required.
Technical drawing degree preferred, other technical degrees considered with demonstration of other basic skills.
2+ years of Mechanical or BioMechanical degree. Other engineering degrees are considered with demonstration of other basic skills.
